i would check with the hydro shop - depending on their policy and the law it may be their responsibility to ensure the goods get to you as the purchaser. also if you ordered them on your credit card you may have cover there too.

That's what I thought.
So anybody can steal anything and all they say is "tough luck" and that's the end of it?
Time to boycott royal mail I say

Here in the states you steal something from the mail and its a federal offense, still happens, but not that often compared to all the other crime.

Last credit card I got had the envelope sliced open at one end......went straight to the bank and got it cancelled. Not worth the risk of some a-hole postie going on an internet spending spree at my expense.

As peeps have said....special delivery or courier is your only real guarantee of it not being nicked. Always worth the extra few quid to get stuff couriered imo.

Really is a disgrace... I would have thought considering you have written proof that Royal Mail is still in possession of your property then you have grounds to seek compensation... but I imagine they have a disclaimer that would rule that one out.

Like others have said, I would go for private couriers as the Royal Mail don't seem to take this problem very seriously.

i've never had a problem with the post and royal mail but i saw that about them robbing birthday cards and credit cards, it's made me think as i've sent cash to the bay before but always do the recorded / special delivery
