anybody no flushing an still getting decent taste/burn

just curious if it happens, ive flushed for 6 days and loved the taste of my product before, ive also flushed improperly with molasses and it ruined the taste. are some nutes properly used out there capable of being run to the end without people noticing u didnt flush, as yeild will go up i imagine a little,im not talking about u o.g tokers but newbies like the average stoner who cant say ''i taste the micro in the floraseries,, u must of not cut it out early enough''.

you can look into H&G and run the drip clean all the way thru. You need 3-4 day flush and finished product burns like it was flushed for 14 days. Proof is in the pudding so to speak

Another H&G user here who is also a proponent of the no flush regime. I've tasted a lot of "unflushed wonder" over the years. I use the complete line of H&G with very few amendments and I've been able to push the girls really hard right up to the end without ill tastes being imparted into the finished medicine. I've said it before and I'll say it again, grass grown right won't need flushing, at least when grown in coco.

So are you using the Shooting Powder? If so, are you running that stuff 2 sachets per 25 gallons like the feed chart? I'm deathly afraid of feeding that hot of a mixture and wanted to hear from at least one person going that high on P and K.

Good question, b/c I don't use the shooting powder. That's the only thing in the H&G line I'm not using. So technicaly I guess I'm not using the complete line. It was my understanding that the shooting powder is an optional amendment. I grow great stuff without it and get my extra P and K near the end by just altering the basic feed. I'm not growing for $$$$ reasons so total end weight isn't my first priority. I'm more focused with growing good medicine for my wife and myself.

I water my plants with nutes added every other day up until 4 days before chop. 4 days before chop I water with plain water. Then they get chopped on the day they would've been watered.

If I quick dry anything, it's pretty harsh. After 2 weeks cure, it's way smoother than 90% of any commercial I've ever gotten. After a 3-4 week cure, it smokes like heaven, tastes like fruity-hash and stinks like love.

(And burns to an ash that is so light-grey that I almost would call it white.)

Flushing definitely depends on a few things.....

-Medium
-Type of nutes used
-How often nutes were applied

One guy hit it spot on.....grown correctly, you don't need a crazy flush. I totally agree.

While growing in ProMix and using Fox Farm, I find it best to lower the amount of Tiger Bloom you use, and do a feed, water, feed, water regime.

I don't use alot of Tiger Bloom the last 3 weeks of the plants life. Only organic nutes (Big Bloom, Liquid Karma, teas and carbs) are applied up to 10 days before chop. When the plants dry out from their last organic feed (if you will) they only get my delicious well water......it comes out at 6.0 and during the last 10 days, there isn't even any pH Up or Down added at all.

So I guess I do more of a passive flush. My meds burn to white pure ash. And tastes great if I don't say so myself. :)

Just my 2 grams worth. ;)

Excellent. Thank you for the quick response. I'm going to take a crack at this Shooting Powder and report back as its rarely used by anyone...anywhere. I went to all my hydro shops including H & G dealers and no one carried it. One place was an H & G dealer and had never heard of the stuff.

From what I understand it will not affect quality for better or worse, but it does pack on a little weight supposedly. I've seen some photos that may have shown its effects and it made some foxtails on sativas and some plumpness to the indicas.

I agree that it is not a necessary additive. I'm into my 5th week of a Sour D and its looking fantastic without any sorts of crazy PK boosts, but I wouldn't made seeing a little bit more weight out of this strain.

How about the Algen Extract, are you using it? The US distributor has it blocked out of my feeding chart and I never got an answer from them as to why.

in coco with good quality water soluble nutes you don't need a long flush, BUT you do need a few days of plain water. in my drip system i'll setup a separate tank for the return about 4 days before i plan to cut. i will run nearly a whole tank of plain ph corrected water through the system till the return water ec is way low, like at most 0.8 better 0.6, then i let it run on auto again with just plain ph'ed water till cutting day. believe you me not doing this, loses you a lot of flavor and general smoking pleasure and such a short flush will not have any negative impact on the yield. unless you are flushing too early, which is a big no no, unless emergency. it's important not to flush before your trichomes are at the stage of ripeness you want them at.

yeah, i run dripclean in coco, just sampled a nug off a branch that fell off 3 weeks before harvest, smoke very surprisingly smooth and delicious.

0 flush, 2 days of hanging to dry, smoked out of a glass piece, way smoother and flavorful than I would have thought.

I cant even imagine what it will be like with a 3-4 day flush, 5 days of drying, and a few weeks cure. coco is the shit!!
