Yes, Krunchbubble has, and no, he said they sucked. If you look at the color output it's mostly green light, which doesn't help plants much. More lights are coming out all the time, but as soon as something more efficient or better than an HPS comes out you'll know all about it, I promise.

I'm sure they are great lights, but not for what any of us need them for.. I'm sure if they were good we would see lots of threads with people using them...

If you look on Wiki you can see they installed them in some Air and Space museum, they are very bright, natural-daylight looking lights, but they seem better suited to overhead commercial lighting than agriculture. THey have tried different coatings in the past to enhance the red output with limited success. I'm sure they would LOVE to come up with a good horticultural lamp for them, as their sales would probably be pretty good if they were worth a damn. There was a segment in last months Urban Gardener about 3-4 new plasma lights that will hit the market this year, can't wait to see them!
