Hi all

well my cab is nearly finished, so its finally time to get growin!!

this is what im working with:



dimensions are 66 h x 64 w x 33 d cms, and for lighting i have a 70w hps with two 20(?) w cfls, and will be using the scrog method. for ventilation i have a large pc fan for intake:



and a 5" inline fan which sits in the top shelf of the cab and vents out of the back, aswell as 2 more pc fans; one blowing across the bulbs and one to keep the ballast cool, ive managed to get the cab 95% lightproof and also use tot locks

this will be my first proper attempt at indoor growing and first scrog attempt so be nice please!! lol any tips / criticisms are appreciated to guide me on this grow

the genetics i am using are 1x arjans strawberry haze and 1x purple wreck (both feminised) and i am growing in coco with added perlite.

these popped a couple of hours ago so tomorrow will be day 1, im keeping them in small pots untill they are big enough then will plant into the large pot on the pic and start training them under the screen, hopefully it'll go well!

Hey Spliffmaster!

Nice cab! I'm building a cfl cab with 4 pc fans...got any tips on how to light proof the pc fan vent holes?

hey

the "dingling" thing is just something ghetto i put together to hold it lol, its just two peices of wood and some nails! haha, am gonna move it round and add some sort of reflector at the top though, just havnt got round to it yet, need to take the shelf out etc to do it properly!

the temps with the hps on stay at about 29 degrees c, a bit on the hot side but ah well

for light leaks on the vents i just got some cardboard and made it into a sort of box with one end open and fitted them over the vents with the gap facing down and the box longer than the bottom of the vent if that makes sense, that way it blocks the light and still takes in air and on the inside of the cab i used so sealant on all the gaps in the cab before adding mylar, whch also helped it become more airtight! and for the doors i used some draught excluder! hope this helps

so the plants showed there first leaves today and are sat in the cab now, will post more pics soon!

Hey Spliffmaster.
Just a little thought, you must have at least 1.5x (diameter your exhaust)= size of intake for best airflow..
Looking forward to see them Ladies (?) grow into the screen !!!!

lookin good tatz, what light you using?

time for an update, sorry it wasnt sooner, have been busy!!

ok so the seeds have popped and are now at day 16 of 18/6

i have turned the light the correct way round now, and when they get a bit bigger will start training them into the screen

i still have a bit of dialling in to do though, need to figure out some way of making it quieter for a start, ive already put acoustic ducting in and put some insulationg foam round the fan, will probablly have to get a fan speed controller but am worried about what will happen to the temps

also im having to manually turn the lights on and off at the moment because the hps doesnt always turn on straight away! at the moment its wired into an old pc supply box thats been gutted and use the switch to turn it on and off but sometimes have to sort of hold the switch half way before it switches on if you understand what i mean lol!!! apart from that just need to mess round with the light proofing a little more and add more mylar!

ok guys, im now on day 21 of 18/6 , and the plants are nearly big enough for me to start training them into the screen - what i want to know is is it best to switch it to 12/12 in the next couple of days given my small space? and should i be topping etc to get as many budsites as possible, or again given my small space should i just let the branches already there get up to the screen? any advice would be really helpfull at this stage have done a bit of reading on it but dont know what is best to do in my set up! will post more pics soon, thanks

I´m sorry spliff, as I have no idea of what´s best... I aim on going SOG, kinda DrBud-approach with hardmounted CFLs and as short a veg time as possible before the clones enter the 9,45 hr light cyclus..
