Hey guys,

I dont know much about leds, but i was thinking about buying one of those 45 WATT panels, just as a supplement light.
My main light source is the sun... they stand next to my window :). At the moment i'm growing some Lowryder #1 ( joint docters ), auto BlueBerry ( lowlife) and Auto K (lowlife ). I am planning to throw in a easyryder, auto hindu kush and a ( Auto ) white russian.

So my first question: would this Panel be any good ? Because this is a real cheap one 1 found :)

My second question, If the panel is 'good to go', would i be able to grow 1 or 2 autoflowers under 1 single panel ( With no other light sources ) ?
I think i saw some 1 do it here, with pretty good results..
i think his was called glowpanel 45 from sunshine systems.
Not sure though.. i cant find his log, if ill find it, ill post a link.

I was wrong do,.. he dint ' just use' a glow panel, he also used a 4 36 watt lights i believe.

O, so you know, i'm not looking for professional results.

you may be very disappointed if you try to grow AF plants under this 45-watt panel. i have seen a friend grow many regular-photoperiod plants under a 45 watt LED, and the yields were below-average at best. it is simply not a strong enough light to produce anything spectacular (although the quality of the bud was excellent). as for AF plants, most of them require AT LEAST a 2-liter pot to produce a decent yield (even with a 150 watt HPS or something stronger), and a single 45 watt panel does not have the power to cover the space required for multiple plants in large pots... maybe even only 1 or two. every LED company likes to say that their 45-watt panels are equal to a 150 watt HPS but that is utterly FALSE. if you want to try out this light, definitely try for some regular photo-period plants at first. yes, you could fit a bunch of AF plants in small pots under the light, but the combination of a weak LED panel and rootbound AF plants will be extremely disappointing!

the results of an old grow that the same friend did -

5 lowlife AK47xKush females
90 watt LED ufo
2 liter soda bottles as pots
=
just over an oz. (dry, and VERY high quality bud. props to lowlife, one of the few companies to make a high-quality AF product)
they were far too rootbound. the plants grew tall, but the buds could not go past a certain point. an interesting note is that one pheno ended in about 3 grams of dry bud, while another pheno gave about 10 grams! and they were all grown in the same exact conditions.

hope this helps. get a stronger light or try out a nice, regular indica-heavy hybrid first!

edit: just saw that you just want 2 or 3 plants. give it a shot, but i still recommend something non-AF

I actually now use 10/12 litre pots because i want to keep them on my balcony for the spring/ summer.
The LED panel, i thought about use-ing it for during the fall/winter when the sun is less strong and goes down earlier. I then keep the plants in my room in front of a window.
Then I can use the panel as a supplement lighting for the darker periods (after 6) for a few hours .

I don’t want to buy non auto-flowers, because i have no grow cabinet of any sort. So woudn't be able to give them a proper light cycle :). I’m happy if a get a normal yield. I don’t smoke so much so that’s oke for me :D.
This is more of a small hobby, I’m from Holland so its no problem for me to keep the plants in front of a window or balcony so visible.. as long as I keep them under de legal border of 5..

Hey.

In my experience it all depends on what kind of lights they put in the panel, some are good an others are not worth anything, dont know what they use in the one your thinking about... I have a good UFO 90w LED light, has Bright Lux lights in it and it works perfect for me. Me last grow I had 4 Autos in there. Blue Streak, HBD, White Dwarf and a La Diva, they yielded a bit over 80g dry. Could easily have fitted two more under the light and land on 4oz dry..
