Perpetual yellow starts

I moved my rootlings from the top of my hut to the bottom, where it's cooler and they get less light, and now they're doing great. I no longer saturate the coco either, I just wet it, and I use smaller pots, like half a beer cup size.

Looks like my problem was too wet, too warm, too big, too fast.

i have the same problem, they start out slow as hell. I have clones that are 3 weeks younger about to pass the coco plants. They do have a ton of roots though. :dunno:

Not that this thread garnered much attention, but for those of you who chimed in saying you're having the same problem, it was definitely temps for me. The latest batch of clones went straight to the bottom of the tent, and they look flawless, even perked up a little after transplant from the cloner. I didn't think the top of the tent at 80 degrees would be too warm, but the plants are telling me I was wrong.

The plants seem to know best, and I'm not going to argue with them.

Anybody want clones? I have extras...

mine are doin the same, yellowing at bottom, lime green at top.
there in 15 ltr pots, they are growing but slow.do u think it was the over watering or the warm pots that was doing it?
thinkin of not watering till pots get lite(water pissin out of bottom as soon as i put more in,but not wilting) and puttin somthing over the top of the pots,so the coco dunt get hot (clay pebbles, black and white sheet?
what do u guys think?
thanks,terry

I definitely say to ease up on the watering, you can let the pot dry up to 50% weight, let the roots fill up that sponge the coco creates. As for heat, I don't know your temps or light, but it's the surrounding atmosphere that is going to heat up the pots the most, you can cool most anything with more air.

hows it going dunky, thanks for the reply:tiphat:
ive got 2 600 watt hps about 4 foot away,in a room thats 8 foot square i think?the temps are 65c-81c thats on the min/max thermometer and rm is 25-50.
ive got an 8 inch extractor on a carbon scrubber, and a 6 inch intake
ive been wartering 2ltrs of my feed every other day(EC 1.2/PH 6)which i think has been to much.
my coco is mixed with clay pebbles 60/40 and has a 2 inch layer at the bottom of the pots.
the shit thing is that the grow is not at mine,so im havin to let somebody else water them with a decription of the plants over the phone.when there established,im going to switch the autopot on,and then they feed themselves after filling the butt up once aweek, but its just gettin them started and not killing them before i can,on my 5th grow now and not had this problem before, but all my grows have been in my house.
theres no way to get more colder air into the room,so it would have to be an AC unit which i cant afford a the mo.
jeez that was a bit long winded lol.ill get some pics up when i next go to the grow so u can see.
thanks Dunky.terry
