B I N G O..it's one thing to be yerself and it's another to be stupid...all that "statement" stuff just seems childish to me now..

Standing up for what you believe in is "childish". Just hair right. Being true to one's self is not "childish" It's being a man/woman.

Both of my sons have gone to their Mother and told her I never taught them one important thing for business. That was how to kiss ass, I swear both have proudly told her that. Well she looks at the both of them and tells them the truth "do you think your old man even knows how to kiss ass?"

Sometimes my men make me so proud.

The only time in my life having long hair didn't come with wicked dandruff was the period when I used shake my head in the shower, then not comb it at all. Now, I just buzz it short every couple weeks. Same result.

As for that statement crap, my buddy got his ear pierced back in the 70's. He doesn't wear it anymore because everybody else does. And no, he ain't gay (at least I don't think so...or care much really). His life. He has 3 kids too, sort of making me think not.

I just heard yesterday Dr Oz tell a woman in his audience that combing her hair causes dandruff. He said it's "milking" the sebaceous glands. Makes sense. I mighta been able explain that to Ma and Pa back then who just thought their son was an idiot. That's my life. A day late and a dollar short every time.

Here are typical first-hand experiences of mine over the past 15 years:

a)military cut (early 90s): "Are you a cop?"

b) dreadlocks (mid-90s): "Dude, you have any weed?" / "Do you mind if we search your car?"

c) Wall Street, NYC clean cut (late 90s - 2001): "Are you hiring?" / "I don't like Republicans."

d) BIG afro (2002 - present): "Your like... a 70s soul brother or something, right?" / "I don't like Socialists."



It's truly amazing how one can maintain the same general philosophies and self-identity and yet inspire others to make the craziest assumptions. I AM a 70s-derived soul bruvva, btw.

I used to have a pony tail, Hell I used to have hair. Now my forehead just goes to the back of my head. But I do have a full beard, had one off and on for years.My beard is longer than my hair nowLOL!

Hey Old Bong Water...you really in Cicero? I'm down there all the time. My wife's sisters live there...

I let my hair grow all last year. went a full year without cutting it. Then i shaved all of it off one day...just felt like it. I cant tell you how good it feels to be active and not have that hair...so...half the people i know tell me i looked better with it and half say i look better without it.

Cut mine in 73, I think about letting the freak flag fly every year, but the leo here profiles brown people, young people, and long hairs, although less than they used to. I love a buzz in the summer now, it is completely efficient, cool, and makes my head think I am a little kid again.

How long is your hair Oldbongwater??? I haven't cut mine in bout 12 yrs although its dreaded up most reaches the back of my knees when tied inna ponytail. I plan on carrying it to to check out time as well lol

I'll probably go belly up if I get a good job interview. If I had not just had back surgery I'd be out looking for a job land surveying. I like that kind of work active outdoors and sometimes in the woods or country.
