150w GOOD FOR TINY TENT?

Hope I'm not messing up anyones conversation but I have a quick question on HPS. My first 2 grows were PC grows with CFLs but now I have a tiny little grow tent that is 16 inches sq. and 4 feet tall. Fits perfect in my closet. Very stealth. I want to use a 150w HPS to grow 2 WWs. Can I use 1 9in. fan at the base pointed up and 1 6in. clip on fan facing the port hole to extract? What concerns should I have other than maybe heat? I will be using FFOF. Thanks for looking.

^^ Do you have intake? Need more info. Air flow is key to keeping temps ideal.

Just posting a pic a one of my plants that I'm gonna harvest in 9 days, just waiting on more amber trics. Sampled a bud yesterday and while taking quick pics just now and its a creeper .. strong celebral head high with a nice body buzz.
I'm wired n inspired right now. Tastes like skunky grape juice

charlie, your tent won't be very stealth when the light is pouring out of the vent holes.
With such a small tent, and only a 150 light, you could get by with exhausting the air out with a small (6") duct fan connected to the exhaust port. These cost about $30 at HomeDePot.
I would keep the fan blowing up, and the clip fan blowing right on the bulb and directing the hot air at the exhaust vent that has your duct fan.
The tent should allow you to clamp the duct fan to one of the ports, and to keep the light down, you could simply clamp a piece of flex duct to the exit side of the duct fan and allow a foot or two of the flex to hang down. This creates a 90 deg turn and the light will be trapped.

Without a proper exhaust the grow will suffer.

Hoosierdaddy I looked up the duct fans at Home Depot and will pursue that except...do you just plug it in like a regular fan? I know I could look that up but am just going to ask. If you have to hook it up to another power source that might be a bit trickier for me. Be that as it may I will try and do the duct fan with the flex duct which I can also get at the home depot. I know that I have to keep temps down. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it.

Yeah, it's looking pretty toasted already. It's a cross of OG Kush, SDIBL and Deep Chunk. I call it chunky giesel.

Charlie, it only has three wires. You will need to add a cord and plug. They are 115vac and plugs into the wall outlet. The green wire goes to the round ground post.

Disco- Impessive grows! Im curious what your internal temps/ RH highs and lows are? Is that a single 150? what size venting fans? thanks!

MC, thanks. Cab temps are ~6 degrees higher than ambient with a single 150. Humidity fluctuates between 45 and 55 percent. I use a 95 CFM hydrofarm blower for exhaust and a pc fan for circulation.

Hey IC Growers

Newcomer on the horizon, need a new hobby so i picked up a Sun System 150W HPS. http://www.amazon.com/System-150w-Grow-Light-Fixture/dp/B001JL0BWG

This thing puts off a LOT of heat which is going to be an issue. Anyone use this beast and have any tips/tricks/ideas or learned anything by using it? And also is it possible to remote ballast this by unassembling it? I havent tried yet since I don't want to void the warranty without your knowledge and guidance. Look forward to good things 150W HPS club

You can take the core and igniter (it might also have a capacitor) out and put them in another box remotely. You will need a cord from the light to the new box, and another cord back to the power receptacle (use the original cord for this). It will wire up exactly as it is now

just got the utilitech 150w hps and my cord im using to wire it has three wires a green and two whites one of the white ones has groves on it and the other has writing on it indicating the green wire is for ground so please help so i can join the club forgot to add i need to know which white is which

dont it come with instructions? i wired mine up wrong first and it shut off all electrics in the house, so then i knew i had it the wrong way round lol
