Did you receive the pre-form warning letter too?
They really don't want to send the census workers out to everyone. Lets not forget that one of them was founded hanged in Kentucky earlier this year with the word "Fed" scrawled on his chest.
i got the pre form letter saying the letter was coming now if that aint a waste of $$$ sending out letters to tell you your gonna get another letter WTF

It was initially reported that way, but it was later found he committed suicide and wrote the letters FED himself. Here is an article:

yeah they ruled that a suicide meant to look like a murder. although how you duct tape your hands behind your back and then hang yourself i dont know. they also never found the duct tape... so...

I worked delivering forms to rural addresses for the census this year (only job I've found in about 8 months).
-The fine is just an empty threat. They will show up at your door if you don't turn in a form, up to six times. However, no one has been fined for 50 years.
That sucks about the ex-cop; census workers are employed by the gov't, so letting them into your home probably isn't a good idea if you're growing pot. Some won't care, but others will.
I understand the privacy concerns; if it bothers you, just fill out the really basic information (number of people, address). But if you do that, they may well return to ask you more questions. One thing to keep in mind is that private companies already have much more information than the gov't has, and with worse privacy policies. Think about all of the info google has on you...

By looking at the 2 different census forms - the normal 10 questions one shouldnt be a problems - just fill out & send off.
Now the other form with the 50 questions - FUK, if im unlucky enough to get that one, ill be officially shitting myself...

I was pointing out on example of how the forms can be abused. Since I was fighting FOR eliminating questions about race, you can assume I am not racist

Like a few of the members have said before, the only information you are required to give to the census bureau is a head count of the dwellings occupants.
That's not really true. While the constitution doesn't specify the additional questions, subsequent legislation has. Laws have been passed which do require you to provide all of the information requested. It says so right on the envelope the form comes in.
As I said earlier, if you don't do so, nothing is really going to happen to you other than being pestered by census workers (probably only if you refuse to fill it out altogether). But legally you are required to answer all of the questions.
Every question on the census form (all 10 of them) are in support of legislation that has been passed. The census data is used to fund everything from school to allocating federal highway funds. If you don't answer all of the questions, feel free but you're screwing yourself out of funds to fix roads and bridges, or improve school.

Unconstitutional legislation are not laws they are an attempt to steal your liberties. Compliance with immoral and unconstitutional laws destroys one's soul. I am not aware of ANY supreme court decision allowing the violation of our 4th amendment rights against improper search and seizure. The questionnaires you speak of are a warrant-less search and you are under NO obligation to speak if you don't want to. The 5th amendment gives us this right to tell the US Government to Fuck OFF.
If you really believe your roads and schools will be any different after the census you are a dreamer. If I had it my way the federal budget for education would be ZERO! Why are we paying to brainwash children. The answer is because the government doesn't want children to think or understand their natural rights and the protections granted to all humans by the US Constitution.
What ever happened to self reliance? The federal government should run the military and leave EVERY THING else up to local governments.

Funny thing the people posting photos of the tin foil hats have it exactly right. Schools suck because Americans are as dumb as a sack of hammers for the most part and they have been trained like sheep to believe the government.
If you read my post you would see I want the federal gvt out of schools and away from the roads.
I don't want the government fixing anything, and I would rather starve to death than work for the man, but the funny thing is that the tin foil hat crowd here doesn't seem to need government employment or welfare. I am happy you got to suck off the government tit for a while and you are correct the census is the least of our problem.
