they claim you can fill 28 2 gal pots with a bail of promix, thats what they say anyway, depends on how full you make them, but 20-25 is more precise, speaking from experience.

darksmith: thats what i was worried about..

I just grabbed 6 bales and will now attempt to fill 100, 3 gallon pots, I SHOULD have 6 gallons left over.... haha we shall see

If you fill them loosely and fill the soil upto 1.5" you should be ok, but I'll bet your 2 pots short. Let me know, see how accurate my bet is.

What do you call a bale? the 2.8 cu ft loose fill bag? the 3.8 cu ft compressed bale? Both? (in their descriptions above, only 1 uses the word bale)

The only thing I can get around here is the 3.8 cu ft compressed bale.

I was wondering why the 3.8 cu ft compressed bale yields so many more pots in the above chart. It's because it expands to a minimum of 7 cu ft loose.

That's a lot more material than I expected lol

most of the time it will be write on the label the number of liter, so under your pot, your are supposed to have the number of liter of your pot.... so, here you go... if you got pot of 2 liter, and have 100 liters of promix, so you got 50 pot

only got 12 pots (3gal) from 1 bale, hopefully the other bales dont fuck me over so I dont have to get another 2 of them.

Left about 1.5 - 2 inches from the top

Is there a specific way to uncompress them? I got the stuff pretty fluffy

I don't compress my soil at all, I leave about 2" of pot at the top and you must break up the soil into its normal form, all little balls must be broken up. I don' pack them at all, super fluffy let the water pack the soil.

the hieght is 12 inches in the 3 gallon grow bags, i did the calculations and figured out that about 9.5 inches up the side is 3 gallons, managed to get 13 per bale doing it like that

fuck me though, having to haul 8 bales into an apartment building and then haul them uncompressed out afterwards...

time to start considering hydro again
