Local Store Sells Fox Farm OF Soil CHEAP!

Hey guys, well its spring time and your local garden stores are stocking up on supplies. A few months ago i ended up going to a hydro store in search of FFOF, only to pay $20 for a 1.5cft. bag. I had visited my local garden store before going to the hydro store and they said they will stock fox farm once spring rolls around. Well that time has come and the fox farm products are stocked. 6 bucks for a 12(13) quart bag and 10.99 for a 1.5cft bag!!! I bought a bottle of Grow Big for $16. They sell big bloom for $11!.
Anyways, I just wanted to share. Before you go to the hydro store, check the foxfarm website distributor location map to see if any other local stores carry it.

pay a little more and support your local hydro store. that garden store will be just fine without you. the hydro store will not be.

Local hydro shops around here sell the good ol Foxy for $15-$18. Just depends which one ya go to. Thanks for the tip though.

I live on the gulf coast actually. The hydro store near me isnt hurting either and for a price difference of 50%, ill go with the garden store. Its not a franchise store, it's a small business, just like the hydro store.

FYI!!!! About FFOF!!!
I went in last week asking about differences in some soils and they guy at my Hydro store told me Fox Farm screwed up the mix of Ocean Forest for the past two months or so... If you get a recently produced bag there is a great possibility of the enzymes being out of whack and major clumping can occur. This MIGHT be why they are selling their FFOF so cheap... granted it could also be because spring is upon us =P

My local hydro store is hurting, so many people are opening accounts with wholesalers just to get product at cost, and they sell to their friends. That coupled with internet prices makes it hard for them to even make payroll. If your store isnt hurting yet they are very lucky, but it won't last.

They sold me FFOF for 9.95 a bag as part of a very large order, but I've heard of it going for as low as $5 in Humboldt on occasion

it for cheaper I'll do it. I also hear about the Ffof had problems with some of the last batchs were messed up buddy of mine had
been a victim of it too Should be all
fixed by now though.

whoever started this thread :tiphat:

I found a supplier from the FF dealer list, and they are selling soil at about 25% LESS than the local hydro shop.

now if I go there and the bales are outside, and look buggy, I'll pass,...but the lady I talked to when I called said they sell quite a bit of it, "we run out sometimes".

but thanks again GREAT THREAD

Support your local hydro shop? Not to sound like a dick, but what the hell is the point-they don't hire people that know what they are doing, the last time I was in there, nearly everyone of their employees was drinking beer and smoking cigs(inside the store), and on top of that, they price gouge on every product . I asked one of them what nutrients would be best for dwc, and the guy almost ran to the shelf, and grabbed a bottle of GH floroliuos(can't spell today), and said that this was the stuff I wanted. When I told him that it is just a supplement, he tried telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. I took the bottle out of his hand and pointed to the directions on the bottle, then put it back on the shelf and walked out.

Yep, many hydro stores are like this.

However, my local shop is very good, family run, and staffed entirely by growers. They know their stuff and have made many excellent recommendations for me. I don't mind giving them their 5-10% markup for the convenience of using cash and fast local pickup. Usually my parts are there the next day, but if its an emergency they can run to Hydrofarm and pick up what I need!

I wish I could find a hydro shop like that, and if I did, I would be all about keeping it around. Either way, they still do end up getting some of my money(even though it is a store 20 minutes farther away from the one I mentioned). I have to get nutes and rockwool somewhere(I hate online shopping), and so far the garden store and Lowe's just don't stock them.

Thanks for the tip!!

Thanks for the tip!!

So I just got a way better deal, not at the price you guys mentioned. Another way to look at it, The place I was at was a Nursery with very cool people. I will choose to roll by their any day and get my FF for $5 cheaper without anybody interested in why you are buying so much!! Pretty sure the LEO isn't sitting their keeping track of plates.

Appreciate you sharing the tip and will be a happy camper from now on!!
