im really trying to not fuck up my friends new house. He asked me to help and its the first time i encounter this problem. Room is a bare room with no windows and a cement floor. I can pull intake through a fake wall but should i exhaust it into the attic? I dont want all that humidity to fuck up the house and have black mold everywhere. maybe vent into attic and have a box fan in that ( i dont know what its called but its a square with vents on it on the side of the building that lets fresh air in or old air out hole) ? its going to be a vertical setup and budgets is to low to run a enclosed system..

Currently I have a setup in a house that I rent from a very close friend of the family. I have my exhaust venting into the attic as you have planned. The attic here has the same square vent pieces you seem to be describing. I am not worried about it and I see no adverse effects from it thus far (it has only been 2 weeks). The open air passive exchange of air in the attic should be enough I would believe. If you are concerned about it, you could always mount a box fan to the square vent and exhaust the air out that way.

Becareful. I worked at a house where they just exhausted the bathroom fan into the attic without having it exit through a dedicated vent and exactly like you said there wasmold all over. I know the shower my be more humid wet air, but you might want to see if you can run the duct directly up to one of the passive vents. Good luck brotha.

That's because it was venting from a bathroom where the humidity will be much higher. Hot showers, etc..

A grow room should not have that high of a humidity. I have vented into attics before with no ill results.

I exhaust into the attic as well. I have a 6" and 8" I run up there....All is good. My attic has vents all around so I think the air exchanges naturally.

Would probably depend on the temp in the atic. If you are venting hot air into a freezing (or very cold) atic there will be condensation witch could lead to mold. If you are venting the same temp (or cooler) air into the atic it shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck
