How about a side by side of both lights? Maybe even a picture with them both turned on as well?

So this next competition is basically 162W vs 182W, with our company having the advantage this time around. The power advantage is approximately 11%. Is there anything special about this Jumbo aside from the every-day model you purchase on their site?

side by side of the lights... will do

both lights turned on.. will do

Nope nothing special on this model, I was told to expect a few different things from a few tweaks they made... But no details were divulged, other than to expect much stronger internode growth.

There will be far less variables in this grow versus the grow that Irish conducted. All clones from the same mother, no runts and going to keep an even canopy which is proving to be essential for LED grows. So I am definately looking forward gettin this shit kicked off next monday or perhaps this weekend, just waiting for my pick of the best rooted clones.

I'll work on those pics later tonight. I couldnt resist putting up the LED's so they are up over my other trays helpin out, for a few days. But once the lights go out tonight I'll take them down and take some pictures of them together

til later....

Cheers man
Hehe I can see before me you must really be like a kid on Christmas day with all those toys :p
Which unit is easier to mount up in a stealthbox or the like? (size of the panels vs area to grow in)

Both units would have to be modified in order to mount flushly or what not. They both have the exact same hanging mechanism, I havent changed them yet, and dont plan on it as I currently have plenty of vertical space, but it would easily be fixed on either of them if need be.

Alrighty, so here's the side by side pics

First picture is without flash, second picture is with flash and white balancing.

Yes, they certainly made design changes to this model vs the previous light that Irish used. Here is the picture they currently have on their website for their 180W Jumbo:

PS180WJumbo.jpg

In the heart of transparency (and because the model you are using appears to differ greatly from the one they sell on their site) I would like you to speak to the owner of ProSource and find out what the differences are between the unit he sent you and the one he has pictured on his website. I would like an answer on the matter prior to the grow test being performed, or I may simply request that you do the 400W side by side on these forums since PS is certainly not a paid advertiser here, and I would be doing them a favor by allowing another test to be performed. We are very transparent with our lights and technology, and listed the change on this very forum and our website when we introduced our second generation of LED Grow Lights. We already beat ProSource once using our fist generation lights, even with them hiding their spectral data, light output, light intensity, and science from the world, so I feel that if they want to have a shot at us again (at least here) they're going to have to come clean with what they're bringing to the table. I certainly have nothing to be afraid about, but I feel it's owed to you guys (all the readers out there) to finally have some honesty from these other companies trying to sell you lights.

This is certainly nothing against you Wizo, just a problem I've had with their company for a long time. They changed their design after losing to our company, and their outputs (from what I gathered from your photos) resemble very close to our 1st generation units (with the exemption of white). If they are happy to comply, then let the grow begin :)

Yeah, they prolly heard what the light was for and souped this 180 watt unit up! then the real custoemrs get bopped over the head with the shitty one when they go to buy it!

Ok, so got word back from PS that their spectral outputs have not changed at all. The picture they use on their website is to throw off copy-cats I was told. The changes that I was told about "were more of an engineering development that allows a better flow-through of the output." PS sales rep.

So as far as I've been told, this is the exact same jumbo they have been releasing since July of 09'.

That's avoiding the question if I ever saw it lol. Doesn't seem like ProSource likes to answer any question regarding their actual light design, output, or intensity. No one knows what they're going up against when the compete against PS, but we already beat them so it really doesn't make much difference. So please ask Doug to give you a real reason about the design changes instead of beating around the bush. For example, we recently changed the internals of our units to contain "clips" on the power supply harnesses, so that they are easier for customers to replace when they go bad. We also added a power button, etc... It's not hard to talk about your product or what you've done to make it better for your customer, unless of course you didn't actually do anything. So what does this "better flow-through of the output" mean? What output is he talking about? See what I'm saying?

Either way if Doug doesn't want to come clean about his lights, like I told you Wizo: I'll be changing the game very soon. Dishonest LED sales tactics will be a thing of the past, and everyone will have full disclosure about all of our major competitors so that you can compare ALL of their design characteristics against our own (light output in PAR, each nm peak they use, the exact ratio of colors they use, etc...). In essence, we'll be taking away all of their "gimmicks" so that all they have left to fall back on is science, which most of them are lacking in...

So the veg stage is complete. I veg'd each set of plants under each light for 22 days before gettin goin into bloom. I have been very impressed with the veg capabilities of both lights, so far I am loving LED's for veg at the very very least.

I failed to take pics right before the plants went into bloom but these are 17 days into veg, so they had an additional 5 more days to veg out.

so from day 1 to day 17 under the 205w from Hydro Grow LED

and day 1 to day 17 under the Jumbo 180w

Come on prosource, I just like the round design

I personally like the square design of the HGL 205w better, however the only problem I have with the design of the HGL light is weight. At 30lbs each, to cover my 42x48 trays I'd need four and thats 120lbs! My GrowLab has one of the better frames for grow tents and will support 100lbs, so I dunno how it'd handle that extra 20 lbs. But ye, thats where I stand on that one....

Our 205W lights are 16.5 lbs each. I just weighed one a few nights ago to verify. I would estimate the PS light at 11 lbs. So anyhow, (4) of our 205W lights would only be 66lbs, not 120 ;)

Suweet, no worries at all then... Might perhaps want to update your website as thats where I initially got the numbers, thought I notice now that it says low weight of 25 lbs. 66 lbs for all 4 wouldnt be any issues at all then and still be able to throw up the carbon filter in there as well. Thanks for clearin that up Cammie. :)

Yes, I do need to update the site. I did an "estimated weight" prior to receiving them, and haven't changed it since.

Ye, I'd say you gave a pretty good estimate. As I thought they weighed about 20-30 lbs, 16.5 lbs is very nice to hear. Sounds like I'm gettin old and outta shape, guess I really do need that gym membership...
