you know I think I wound up avoiding a lot of those issues by having worms living in there. It was not intentional at first, just some cocoons from castings.

but I agree. I want out of peat too.

Read that bog poem though, it's kinda creepy. The bog poems are about these preserved people killed and dumped in the bog, and centuries later their hair and features were still preserved. So the dude in the poem is hacking out peat at work, and he lops of her hair with his spade. How creepy would that be!?!

Dude.......peat bogs are creepy. There's some pretty remote ones up north that are just......creepy. They are odd places to just kick back and smoke a bowl, and dangerous as well. I stuck a 12 foot branch down into a sizable hole and couldn't feel bottom. Fu*k peat, but if it works for anyone else, more power to ya'.:tiphat:

i remember reading about pagan and celtic european rituals, were they sacrificed, killed young men or great worries and threw them in the peat bog. then they would take them out, carry them around and celebrate or have rituals with the bog mummies.
they drugged the guys first with a hallucinogen /aphrodisiac (some barley fungus, I think), let him do a young girl and then slit his throat.
i dont know why i like reading about rituals and crap

funny you mention this. I'm actually really interested in how well the bodies were preserved and looked at all the info i could on the subject. Its kinda scary to think that its just like quicksand. I'm guessing with the bone's being preserved you get a nice bone meal which keeps the pH stable even though its in an acidic environment ahha:laughing:

Is it possible to overdo humic acid
According to the scientist at the company that I buy my humic/fulvic acid (BioAg.com) high-dosing with humic/fulvic acids will cause (his term) 'some really strange growth' on you plants.

That's all I knowzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....................

Is that a 'good' or 'bad' thing?

I wouldnt say its a good thing. You can see some of the damage in the pictures. I gave two plants away and one was just dying so i composted it. I do think the cause is pH though becase after i used dolomite everything started growing back to normal. What you can't see is how it shriveled a lot of the leaves up, some of them looked extremely burnt. Humic acid was the only thing i used to water the plant that night so it the only thing i could think of.
Sorry for the crappy pic.
