Need some advice... Part 2

Hi All... I posted about a week ago about the leaf tips turning brown. I posted a couple of pics, stopped watering the soil, kept the leaves misted, etc. These are planned to be Mom plants.

Tops look really nice, (I think, but I'm totally new to this), but it seems as if the issue is moving up the plant. I'm using Miracle Grow soil with 'built in nutes'. In hindsight, from reading, I should never have picked up the Miracle Grow, but am pretty paranoid about walking into the local Hydro store. Here are the pics I took a few minutes ago. One is a White Widow, other is Arjen's Haze #3. The WW seems to be the worst off, but the lower leaves on the AJ3 seem to be drooping considerably more than the WW's leaves. I've made up my mind to transplant them into 'something' else, but am not 100% sure what yet. I'm thinking biting the bullet and going to the local hydro store and picking up FF Ocean Forest. The other route I'm considering is a DWC setup. From the reading I've done, (And i've done a LOT!)
it seems like the nutes in the Miracle Grow are just too hot for these particular plants. I've been watering with bottled water, nothing added. Temp in the cabinet hits 80f during the day, tops. 70f at the lowest during lights off. Lighting schedule right now is 16/8. Humidity is ~28%.
They're still growing and a noticeable rate, but I want to save them before they're burnt to a crisp! Is Ocean Forest the best way to go for soil, or should I go DWC?
Once I'm able to obtain clones, I have a 12-station BioBucket set up ready to receive them, but I want to get my moms nice and happy first.
This site is absolutely fantastic, with an incredible knowledge base. Help is always appreciated. Any and all comments are welcome!!

Well, I went ahead and picked up some FF Ocean Forest soil. Got the girls transplanted, watered them up a but with bottled water, and we'll see how they do.
Will the leaves that already look brown come back, or is that part of the leaf dead?
Was pretty impressed with the amount of stuff available at the Hydro shop. While I was there a couple of people came in and bought some stuff, and were talking with the associate about his mother plant and some other miscellaneous things, all without mentioning it was weed he was growing. It was pretty entertaining to listen to.
The shop does have a sign stating that they will not give advice or information if it's to be used for illegal purposes, and after looking at all the nutes and supplements, I got a big kick out of that sign! ;)

That sucks that you used Miracle Grow soil. Time released ferts suck. Anyway put those into some FFOF and don't give any nutes for at least 2 weeks. If you stick with the Miracle Grow, you won't need any nutes the whole time. Also don't go to hydro yet until you master soil. It will be a lot more complicated and when things go bad in hydro, they go downhill fast. Your brown leaves won't go back to green and if you go DWC you'll need to keep your res temps below 70 degrees F. Good luck!

the leaves that have gone chlorotic will come back somewhat, but the crispy stuff,...no

good news is that the leaves that are browning will be dropping off naturally WAY before flowering,...so no worries

yeah and in "ye old hydro shoppe" I use words like "my garden", and "the plants", and "the cuttings" (I don't call them clones in public),..and then for the rest, I get very "horticulture speek", mentioning "photoperiod", or "pistils", or "phyllotaxy",........keeps you from accidentally blurting out "dude! my dank LOVES the coco!!"

but yeah, they should have monty python on those signs doing the "nudge nudge, wink, wink" routine, huh?

:plant grow:

Growing hydroponically is JUST like running a vintage 1967 Ferrari as a daily driver,......NOT for any beginner, and you'll be tinkering with it DAILY,...when it runs right it's just fucking unbelievable,...but they only run right for a couple of days, then your back to tinkering,.......so go with a rich soil mix (I personally LOVE moonshine's mix in the organic soil forum) till you get the hang of how the plants grow, and THEN you can start tinkering with vintage italian solid lifter quad cam V-12's

Thanks for the info guys. Like I mentioned, I transplanted the two into FFOF a few hours ago. I tossed all the Miracle grow shit... it's in the bin outside. I knew better, but thought I'd try it. I'll refrain from using any nutes at all for two weeks, then see how they look. What Nutes do you all recommend using? It seems if I get 20 replies, I'll get 20 different opinions on which nutes are best, but hey, I gotta ask! :)

Thanks for the tips all!
Both plants have really taken a liking to the FFOF soil. The White Widow has exploded. It's absolutely unbelievable how she's responded. The AJ#3 is not as full, and has some bright yellow around the leaves, but the leaves and plant in general appear to be in excellent health. Nothing is drooping or burned looking at all. I'm VERY happy with the FFOF stuff. I need to upload the pics I took yesterday.
I'm watering now every other day, and it seems on the days I water, you can damn near watch them grow. As someone in my 40's, I've never tried to grow ANYTHING before, so this is pretty exciting for me! ;)
