What's new

Hey all, rather medicated and feeling open...

Soo... I'd like to say hello to everyone here! I've been visiting this site for almost a year now, and recently decided to join in on all the chatter.

I've been a long time fan of mary jane, and over the past few years I have taken a new approach to her use do to severe back pain for tattooing for so many years. But hey! I just wanted to put a picture of my work, and if you are interested, I can definitely add some more!

I have wanted to do a very detailed cannabis tattoo, and a buddy of mine has almost convinced himself he's getting it, so hopefully I can post that in the next few weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Why thank you- I've been out of town with no computer, so I feel like I need to reply to everything and anything today haha.

Red bull- no that's not my boob, haha, or calf, it'd be rather hard to tattoo yourself on the side or back leg- though i have tattooed my arms and legs, and have something ready for my chest piece!

MeanBean- I actually got done with a horror movie themed sleeve a few weeks ago, based on old horror movies but revamped and tweaked to make things a little more edgy and dark. let me know if you need some new ink! lol

IC MAGers get a discount of course!

welcome

nice tattoo, nice detail of the vertebret.

i came to this community as a underground mmj user to cure spasms due to a Cervical Spinal Cord Injury and ive always wanted to get a tattoo on my neck at the base of my scar where it looks like my vertebrets are exposed with all the hardware to hold my neck stable.

the pic you posted inspired me to share that.

also, as a tattoo artist does your tattoo hand have probs from the constant vibrations? just curious b/c if so i wonder if a tattoo grip/handle that incorporates Impact Gel to reduce the vibrations would help. not sure if it would reduce the feel but i thought of this after seeing Impact Gel on Billy Mays show on Disc.

hey SSH- sorry for the late response, i never realized how little of a chance i get now to hop on the computer with 2 kids.

tatooing over scars is usually pretty tricky, the skin it a little tougher, often it bleeds a little more than usual, and they sometimes bleed out the ink and fade a little quicker too. but always been a fan of biomechanic or organic tattoos

as for the vibrations, i use pre-sterilized disposable tubes, ive tried the rubber slip for grips as well as wrapped up paper towels lol, but i haven't ever seen this impact gel. i normally get larger gripped tubes and wrench them into my hand and medicate when my day is over

the one problem that i have with a lot of things is sterility, i'm really ocd about preventing cross contamination, making sure nothing is touching the skin or near the skin where i am working that isn't completely clean or sterile. so the big thing would be, could it be put in an autoclave or is it sterile (though the reason i use disposable tubes is because autoclaves were not designed to clean hollow instruments [meaning the metal tubes the needle sits in])

thanks for the suggestion though man! keep on keepin on, and if you have an idea for a tattoo and want to see it on paper, i usually find some free time during the week at some point and wouldn't mind at all throwing some sketches together for ya
