my micro adventures

hi

Instead of always starting new threads I decided to make just one for all my stuff. I run various, ever changing strains in my small cab, trying new little things lots with varying results.

Setup is pretty simple: light, recycled soil, biobizz grow+bloom, sometimes a small fan for circulation and a biozone for smells if needed. Usually there's 3-4 small plants flowering.

Edit: Current grow, ace orient express fem and rez's chem dd

flowering 3 bubba kush x deep chunk f2s, flipped 4 weeks ago in 6.5 litre pots, all from seed (sprouted 4 beans, one didn't make it and the remaining 3 were female). Biggest one seems to be hungrier than the other 2, so fading a bit.

Scrubs, this time the 126w hgl-panel. Planning on running it trough summer and at around september-october the ambient temps allow me to hook up my trusty 250 watter with a brand new cmh-bulb. Or this is the plan atm.

Bchunks @34 days of 12/12. I've upped my feeding to 2ml/4ml grow/bloom per litre of water, but still seem to fade a bit too quickly. Quess my soilmix is so light after all reuse that need to up the doses or better, revive the soil.

After these, I have four neville's haze x mango clones, 2 of each pheno waiting. And after that more indica run with chem dd and other stuff..Got some new seeds too that will be popping soon.

I've been having a bit of thrip-problems, bubbas are little affected, but I'm just gonna let em be and make sure that cuts and seedlings get clean. Been misting them with this pine extract soap thing (mäntysuopa), I do have neem, but ain't gonna use it unless I have to.

Have you considered spinosad for the thrips? It seems to be standard issue and worked great for me.

I didn't know it even existed :). Googled it and sounds pretty efficient stuff. Now the situation seems to be under control. but really can't be sure yet. It was minor attack, but attack still. Luckily just thrips, now spidermites I hate..

How well does the Biozone work? My little cab with diy carbon filter is struggling to keep up.

It works very well. Haven't used it this round thou. Good carbon filter works too, but been lazy to seal things up and hang it. Have you all leaks sealed and are sure that the filter is big enough?

day 36..24ish to go?

Hi

Thanks cheesebuds. I'm finally beginning to understand that led-plants need food too, so my yields have suffered greatly but curing has been faster..But I'll try to correct it. New ones aren't as green as I like them, but much better than last time.

Pic of the bud of the more deep chunk-leaning specimen (could be totally wrong), the picture really doesn't show those rolled sugarleaves in the front, but you can catch few in the background. I'm not expecting quantity with these plants at all , but hopefully some stony nugs will come my way. Parents have reputation of being small and low yielding. The plan is to chop them around 60 days, but we'll see how long they'll take.

Back to roots..for a while

Back to roots..for a while

Hi there

The bubbas got chopped, a bit more than 50 days, could have gone bit more, but like em more mellow fellow than stony, looked pretty ready by trichs too (milky, I'm not that much amber kind of guy, makes stuff more stony/sleepy IMO, could always be wrong, but now it's too late for them to correct)

Anyways, latest batch is 4 nevillexmangos under my good ole 250w hid with little used osram plantastar bulb. I said I like to try different things now and then :). After this one, I'll hook up the ledpanel again, late summer would be pain with hid.

Yes, they look crappy at this point, transplanted today. Kept them small for bit too long and thrips attacked from somewhere, probably some marks of them can be still seen on lower leaves (which I remove soon).

250 w hid an couple of 10litre buckets of soil is pretty much the way I started, so it's a bit nostalgic :). Had defiencies with this strain last time, quite sure it was underfeeding as this same soil was doing quite good in another project at the same time. Hopefully more dialed in this time.

Oh and does 250w still count as micro? Micro giant? Although I've seen people with double the wattage here with fluoros and such.

Nice, I used to grow outside in 10 litre buckets sometimes. You're still micro in my books

lil update

lil update

Hi

Here's them week after the transplant, a slow start I might say. But maybe I can forgive myself as they've gone from half litre pots to ten litres, so roots growing in there making it a bit slow. I do veg with 16/8-cycle as I sleep next to the cab..

New growth is healthy and green althought hard to tell from hid pics. It's pretty easy to see which one looks best atm. Did a little lst with metalwire to make them more branchy from the start.

They still look crappy in the pics, but I believe that next week will be better

Hi Golbez and thanks

It's roughly 2x2 area, about 4 feet tall or so. Haven't been using hids for a while so it's nice to see what I come up with this time.

Whew, they're still alive after holidays. Thinking of either giving them a week to catch up with the big one or flip em' in couple of days. Not sure yet. Maybe today's program includes some stem crushing.

Nah, after reconsideration I've decided to flip them next monday, starting to lower cycle with one hour each day or two (maybe the effect is marginal to none) until they reach 12/12-cycle. These are sativadominant hybrids so they'll stretch anyway. Also decided to tie em' down when the stretch starts and supplement it with stemcrushing(supercropping) if necessary.

I remember one neville I had years ago that didn't care when the stem got broken, it just bounced back up, did it 6 times in flowering with little desired effect on height, although it does make hardier stems anyway.

Today, not monday

Today, not monday

Well, screw that too. Today is the day 0 of flowering as I switched the cycle last night to 12/12. As they have sativa in genes I'm hoping that the stretch will fill out the canopy. Yeah, got meself some orient express cuts too (ace seeds). Hopefully they'll root too. All kinds of plans for the summer :)

That will look great all filled in. What hours did you lower it down to before you flipped proper? I started trying that but it was too hard to remember to change the timer everyday.
