What's new

8 girls, 5 strains, 1652 watts RDWC return to glory!

It's been just over 3 years since I harvested my last batch. Damn, it feel good to be back in the grow room. New place, new setup, new hopes. This will be my first grow journal- ever; I'm hoping it'll keep me in line to perform my duties (I have been known to be a bit of a slacker in the garden.) But no more. It's time to get serious!

It took me a year to get it all the way I wanted it. So, here it is...

Overall, my room cabinet is 3'x3'x8'. It's totally sealed with ac and CO2. (doing ac & co2 for the first time!)

12 spots for veg - only using 8 at the moment. I designed the veg to be bigger than the bloom so as to have extra for friends and I could choose the best of the lot to be moved into flower. It's a totally custom RDWC, 1-gallon buckets w/air stones, medium less grow (I'm not trying to sound special with the "custom" comment, just explaining that this is no fancy store-bought hydro system). I'm running PBP grow, CalMag, Liquid Karma in RO water. All under 6-36" T-5's. Yep, that's right, 36" T-5's. I built the "fixture" my self. It just fits my space perfect (36" x 24" x 24"). Will be adding 6 more soon.

9 spots for flowering- will only be using 8 this go-round. Same basic RDWC but with 4 gallon square buckets (damn, square buckets are impossible to find - once again, they just fit my space PERFECT). A 1000 HPS & a 400 MH will be bringing the girls to their fullest potential.

Strains: Lavender (3), Hindu Death Cabbage (2), African Queen (1), Mikado Kush (1), Blue Dream (1)
I've only had experience with the Lavender before. I don't know anything about the rest. Guess I'll be learning :jump:

Can't think of anything else right now. Hope to see ya'll around!

The 3 bigger girls are the lavender, they got a weeks head start.

Locked in for this one, looks good so far. Interested to see how your lavenders(Soma?) turn out, have a few seedlings of that going right now. Diggin the build too, should be a good show. Peace.

Thanks for the kind words, E.M. Not sure where any of my gear is from. I've been very fortunate over the years to have great comrades-in-arms that have supplied me with cuttings. I'll have to ask. My buddy had a "sample" of the Lavender with him when he dropped em off. Good stuff. Just the right amount of everything- aroma, flavor, effect. I personally can't wait for that Hindu death cabbage. I started 6 of em before this but lost em to a freeze. But they looked AWESOME - dark green and bushy and squat. More pics next week.

Nice, can't wait to see the Hindu Cabbage of Death! Has to be one of the more interesting monikers for Cannabis that I've heard. Any lineage info on that one?

Ya, ain't marketing grand?

Hear is something I found on the Hindu Death Cabbage: "..deep chunk also called monkey balls or hindu death cabbage is from afghanistan. it's an indica. i've read that it was chocolate thai x hindu kush with something else in it (maybe an afghan?)."

Blue Dream research: "The genetics are haze crossed with blueberry." It came to me from Cali

The Mikado-Kush (Mikado x BC Kush) is from Federation Seed Co.

African Queen - is a 100% Sativa which inherits an earlt flowering characteristic form its Early Durban parent! It has a licorice flavour and its effects are highly stimulating. Perfect for growing internal and external .

Interesting, so the Cabbage is aka Deep Chunk, who'd have thought... That Mikado Kush should be a smasher. Federation has some sick gear, their Romulan is high on my list of lists....should have saved a cut.....

My 1st grow ever included Romulan...boy do I miss that strain. I'll be honest, I keep goin round in circles tryin to figure out which one i'm most excited about. Probably the Blue Dream...never done that pure a sativa before -

Wow, has it really been that long since I last posted pics?!?! Sorry, kids. Well, here is the update: it's day 26 of 12/12 and these little girls have bloomed into some fine young women-

(Sorry, the pics are a little blurry - iPhone camera)
(and yes, I DID use a purplish lamp for illumination - it was the only one I had - don't flame)

Day 28 of 12/12

Better pics...as promised.

Y'all might notice a little yellow crispiness on some of the leaves. I had a pump go out on me the first week into 12/12 and didn't know cause I was out of town and someone else was babysitting. Needless to say, they went about 2 weeks with stagnant nutes. The Lavs almost starved. But, they all pulled through and are doin well. Enjoy.
