Led, do you see the price of your units or the led market going down anytime soon? Is technology getting cheaper for you?

Price is probably the biggest factor for us not switching to led's. I sure would like to try, but right now, just not feasible.

I can likely answer even tho I have no idea of this specifically. No. When the new higher efficiency LED's come out, the cutting edge company will use them. These will cost more.

If you mean stuff as we buy today, you want to buy in 2 years, well then yes.

Basic LED Grow light costs have come down quite substantially over the last year, but our lights are anything but basic. When I say basic, I mean the cost you pay for a simple 120W grow light with 460nm blue and 630nm from China. The same old 120W they sell to every other company, who then resells it online. The cost difference between this type of 120W LED Grow Light vs our 126W, is 40-50% lower as it lacks the spectral diversity of our units and the boards we use. If I was selling the "basic" 120W lights, the cost would be about $325 shipped. While I could certainly sell these units, you would need a lot more of them to get similar results as using a single 126W.

So long story short, LED Grow Lights are not all made the same, and when you see these guys on ebay selling a 90W UFO for $150, it's nothing close to our product. Our costs to build did go down slightly on our new 205W and 345W models, which is why they are cheaper than our other units. The 345W is $3.33/watt shipped, and the 205W is $3.41/watt shipped, whereas the 126W is $3.77/watt shipped. As we come out with new light panels, I expect our cost on those units to drop a bit as well, allowing us to continue making products at a cheaper $$ per watt rating. These costs will not come down substantially, but in a few years I feel that they will. It's like when computers first came out, you bought a 100Mhz Pentium and a 3.5" floppy drive for $1500-$2000, and now-a-days when everyone has computers, you can get a dual core 2.2Ghz for $800 with a blu-ray player. As more and more people adapt to LED lighting technology, the costs will go down. ;)

It's funny that some people have no problem spending thousands on seeds but don't want to dish out the money for good equipment.

And once again it seems only mods and certain people with free units prove its good technology i have not seen 1 descent grow with these yet and as for nearly 4 dollars per watt that performs half as good at best than hps which costs a 10th of the price yeah good value all round ...

Right let me wait for this post to be deleted by over zealous admins who cant let the truth come out man anybody would think we were not living in a democracy.

LED is the way to go for some but not for others. I have seen buds that i would love to smoke from growers on here. I could be wrong but i have not seen a large grow from LED's yet , but i am sure it will happen if it hasn't allready. From what i have seen so far i would definately use LED's for a personal grow but not so sure yet if it is the way for a larger senario.

If anyone does have pics of a large grow with LED's i would like to see them. Currently i don't mess with indoor for many reasons but LED is awsome for getting my little girls ready for the spring. ;)

Look through this forum for the 1512W LED Grow. I wouldn't say it's a large grow, but it's larger than just about any of the others that you'll see. You'll also see arm sized buds...

I've never spent thousands on seeds. Most I've spent, in total, is $130. Many of my seeds have been gifted. :thank you:
