Dehumidifiers- I broke down and bought one

I've done searches but it doesn't seem like there's much talk about these. They're expensive I know but very helpful. I've been having a powder mold issue with my RH at about 50%. We'll see if this thing helps at all.

I bought the LG Electronics 45 Pint Dehumidifier Model # LHD459EL. Anyone have one or using another dehumidifier?

Anybody in a sealed room is using one, and many others, too.

Very very helpful..smart investment.

Did you buy it new or used?? I am currently looking for a used one, 65+ pints.

I bought a Soleus 25 pint off CL for $100.
The thing pulls like 3 gal out of the air every 24hrs and it's silent!

Crap. I dropped over 200 for it new. I would have gone for that one Kcar had I known. Well I'll see how this LG works.

bterzz got mine new but there are cool refurbs and used ones. Seems like they like to break down though so I just went for a new one.

Probably good that you bought a new one.
I think they break down because people run them 24/7.
I know I do. I think your going to be really happy with your purchase.
I love mine and love knowing its out there doing it's job all day long. Kinda like a good dog.
Good luck with yours!

Oh you got yours used- thought you meant off a dealer on CL. Guess they do hold up eh? Mine is a bit big too but I'm using it for a medium sized room that my grow room takes its air from.

Yeah it's a little peace of mind already. That PM has had me worried about harvest.

I bought one last year to stop the PM issues I was having, as well as a new AC that has a dry mode, the Dehumidifer bucket would fill up twice a day, l finaly hooked a hose up to it' and running it with the ac, well lets just say it wasent cheap... and worse yet; I still had pm problems! so after reading a lot abought sulfer burners after trying all other products... I read Pirates diy sulfer burner and made one too, now, no pm, and no need for the dehumidifer or the ac... and my electric bill is not killing me anymore...

i fiound that in my sealed room the dehumid made a shit load of heat, vents were cooled from different air source and the ac was on approx 30 minutes of every hour trying to keep temps down and that was only aiming for 50 rh,perhaps it was to small but the room wasnt that big imho i,m back to running ex fans on moisture and temp and kickin ass!

It arrived, I got it up and running and it already lowered my RH to 38%. It's averaged 50% RH for months so this is great. It's a little noisy, yeah it makes some heat too. I can shut all the vents in my appt though except my grow room and cool it down quick. Also using the AC lowers my RH as well.

I eradicated the PM for a while with my Zone/Penetrator treatment but the dehumidifier is another oz of prevention.
