If these were boys/men we wouldn't be talking about it and thats a shame, I hate double standards!
These girls are doing what they have seen championship teams do their whole lives. How dare people try to rain on their parade.
Also, just like MJ laws, drinking ages are a joke! It deters no one from doing it and probably makes them want to do it more.
I hope that nothing stupid happens to these girls. If you want to target things that send the wrong message, almost every commercial on TV sends the wrong message. Go after the them!

Theres nothing wrong with celebrating a huge HUGE victory, but come on....show some class. This is only the most elite sportng event these ladies will ever play in. They should have waited till they got off the ice and away from the cameras. I feel they wanted to make a statement, plus they were in Canada. I dont think they would have done that at another Countrys's Venue. Maybe they just wanted to release a little bit of pent up frustration from that ass whoopin the US put on their mens squad? hehe The IOC is gonna burn their ass for smoking and drinking in public view immediatley after an event like that. Anyways... congrats to Canada they need some medals to save face for the crappy olympic performace on home turf theyve had so far.

And to the coments of the poster above.... this is the Olympics not some rugby match or some bs mid season baseball game the Olympics..... integrity and class and lighting a cigar up and cracking a couple of Coorslights (which suck by the way) is not a way to show the World how much class you have after a win like this. They wanted everyone to see they celebrate.... why would they do that??? to rub it in of course. All that does is put a target on thier back.
Because this is what they have been taught and genk's pic represents that perfectly. You can't single these girls out just because it's the "olympics". Especially since the worlds as a whole is FUCKED UP! And no "this is not why" it's so fucked. You do what you know!
Besides this was quite some time after the game, so they had a few drinks in them... their judgment was impaired, so the coach or some one else should be held responsible if anyone.
I think it was cool and a great memory for these girls to have.
To me hockey is about smashing someone into the boards and dropping the gloves on occasion. Nothing against any of the women here, but I don't want to see a woman getting pounded in the face or into the boards....
