What's new

1st Grow: Russian Rocket Fuel - 250wHPS, GL60 Tent, Soil

Ugh... pretty sure one of them hermi'd somewhere. The calyxes are orange, and i sliced one off today, and there was a little green seed in it. I couldnt find the nuts anywhere on the RRF's, I suspect the freebie mystery kush did, but its so damn bushy I cant find it... damnit

So, i'm starting to think of strains for my next grow. Looking for a good heady, happy high. A daytime smoke to help adhd. Something that flowers quickly, and clones easy. I plan on taking clones from first girls, and keep the clones from the pheno I like. Then piggyback clones from the new moms each time. If that makes sense...:dunno: Anyways, any suggestions are greatly appreciated, cheeers
:smoker:

Warlock from magnus genetics- female 5 pack 80$us from seedboutique. Actually scratch that i wanna get them in a couple months time and i need them to be in stock :p. I hear bubblegum from serious is good happy high with great taste.apollo 11 joey weed is what i got goin now and supposevly is easy to clone with a happy clear high, growing nice at the moment. cheap seeds too boot 50$ for 10 and 7 week flower time. hope that helps. cheers

Hope it turns out well for you man. Haven't seen the best luck on yield with a 250 on those autoflower strains. You may find it best next time to veg for about a month on the normal strain.

Actually, now that I think of it, a 9-12 plant sog with smaller pots might expose the best traits of the strain and light.

Any diesel dominating phenotypes?

Also, a SOG would have been best, I agree. Since these girls should be making seeds... ugh... supposedly they'll be females, with hermi traits or whatever. If the smoke is good on these girls, I'll definitely be using these seeds for something.

I am trying to figure out the best way to utilize what I have currently to give myself a perpetual supply of medicine, 2oz/month roughly. I have a refrigerator I planned on using for cuttings/clones, its quite small, but would suit the purpose. If I had to, that could be converted soon. Not sure if I should use SoG, or LST/Scrog them. I would prefer a few large plants over a bunch of smaller ones, but I am willing to do whatever will get me a constant supply. Thoughts?

Well, since finding that one of those btch's hermi'd and seeded my whole crop, I am slightly disappointed. I am hoping I at least get some viable seeds from these girls, so its not a total loss. Regardless of the seeds, the bids are looking very nice, and tying down branches is working great, now all the sidebuds are getting nice and big. About 30 days to go...

The Future

As I was saying, I was pretty annoyed with my girls today, and ended up impulse buying Sweetest Cindy (BG's C99 x SOL's Sweet Tooth #3) by Dutchgrown. I am pretty pumped, and am already thinking about my next grow.

I plan on making a new growbox for clones, and piggybacking clones from clones. For example, plant 1st mother from seed, take 1st clones, flower 1st mother, and take new clones from the 1st clones. Due to space, wont be able to construct anything big enough to hold a mom. Supposedly doing this should not affect potency, taste, yield, etc...

As far as medium, I would like to use coco coir, and follow Rezdog's "recipe". Hand feed/water when they need it. Here it is, quoted from his forums..

You've been asking exactly how I do what I do,with ferts, for a good long time.
This is a recipe for anybody to follow, based on my decade-plus experiences with GenHy's Flora Series.
It does smokin' good for me,your results may vary.
I'm always tweaking the above,and you should,too.

==The Recipe==

(All Products are GenHydro,pH at 5.5 pH)
(All measurements are per gal.)
6ml flora micro
9ml flora bloom
Kool-Bloom POWDER

VEGETATIVE STAGE AT 24 HRS. LIGHT ON
(18/6,optional)

Veg,Feed:

6ml flora micro
9ml flora bloom

Use the above 1/2-strength on seedlings and clones to 10" tall, then feed full-strength>on.

Based on 63 day 12/12 Flower Cycle:

Day 1-14
6ml micro
9ml bloom

Day 15-21
6ml micro
9ml bloom
1 tsp./Gal. Kool-Bloom POWDER (ONE FEED,DAY 15!)

Day 22-28
6ml micro
9ml Bloom

Day 29-35
9ml Bloom
1 tsp./gal. Kool-Bloom POWDER (ONE FEED,DAY 29!)

Day 36-52
9 ml Bloom
(AND ON DAY 36,a 1 tsp./gal Kool-Bloom POWDER Slam!!)

Day 52-63 (Flush)
5.5-6.0 pH h20 at 50 ppm

Now you know!!

I am still uncertain which method of training to use, or grow strategy in general! Supposedly topping and scrog'ing works well with many of the C99 crosses, but not sure about how ST #3's notoriety for big yields will affect this.

Ultimately, using the space and materials I currently have. Basically, I have no more room, other than for a stealth rubbermaid clone cab. I would like to find a way to perpetually supply myself with ~2oz/month. Here's my current setup:

- Gl60 Tent - 24" x 24" x 63" - 4 square feet
- 250w HPS with standard cheap-o reflector
- 4" Exhaust (~250cfm) with Speedster regulator
- 4" Carbon filter
- 2x 6" clip fans

Ideally, the less plants, the better. However, I am willing to use any method that will give me the best chance of reaching my yield goals. SoG, LST/ScroG, staggering the grow...

I suppose once I start to see how these girls develop, i'll have a better idea of how to train them. My main goal is to be able to provide myself with enough med's every month.

Any help or tips would be great, thanks a ton guys!

The girls are starting to show some nute deficiency. My guess is due to water quality/pH, theres been some nute lockup. I just sat down and mapped out the feedings for the rest of the grow. Ill be flushing 4 of the 5 girls in ~16 days, to give them a 7-10 day flush. The last girl has 23 days til flush. They're gonna get hit with FF's trio the next 3 feedings or so, the last feeding(s) with half dose of Grow Big. Then the last feedings will just be Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom.

I recorded the heights of the plants last evening. RRF #2 is ~10", #3 is ~9", #4 and #5 are between 6-8", and Mystery Kush #1 is ~5". Despite thier lack of heigth, they are pretty branchy/bushy, especially #4 and #5. The Mystery Kush is just a huge cluster of flowers due to chopping badly burnt areas on her. Might actually get a respectable yield considering her size.

I have learned a ton from this experience, and am excited to use what I have learned for my next project! Going to do a modular scrog, VerdentGreen style. Hoping for 1g/w, and his results show it is certainly attainable in small setups, even with a 250w. So... now I wait, for this project to be complete, and for the SC99 beans to arrive. The anticipation...!

So, heres a little pic update of the girls (well, suspected shemale in there somewhere, ugh). All is going fairly well, and they seem to be looking good. Only complaints are the smallish size, and hermi, both my fault to a large degree. I have learned a ton from this grow, and despite the problems, I am still happy with the results thusfar. Hopefully I will get some viable seeds from these girls, which I can certainly find use for. On to the pics, thanks guys!

So, today, when changing the light schedule on my timer, I unplugged the light. When I tried to turn it back on, it did not turn on. I checked the bulb, and it looks just fine(as it should, its only about 30 days old.) The ballast is extremely hot at the moment, not sure if thats the issue? It does not sound like the ballast is turning on? Any idea what the issue might be? The ballast also only has about 30 days of use...

if you unplug your light you have wait 5-10min for the bulb to get cold. if you plug it imediatly doesn't work
nice plants :D i like your setup ;) keep up the good work

Thanks for the advice, turns out my ballast did just need a little rest, about 20 minutes after it was good to go!

Also, damn these girls are starting to put on weight, all the branches are really wobbly. Just hit them with another feeding. Decided to try the technaflora nutes I have, the flowering mix. Since this grow hasnt gone according to plan so far, and these buds are all seeded, I figure I might as well experiment with my technaflora kit to see how they do.

In other news, I am starting to get excited for my next project. Got some Dutchgrown Witches Weed and Sweetest Cindy99 on order. Gonna go with GH Micro/Bloom 6/9 formula with KoolBloom shots during flowering, per Rezdog's Recipe. Using Coco/Perlite (70/30) as medium, starting in 16oz solo cups, finishing in 3gal 9"x9"x10"h square pots with an individual screen over each pot. Thats all I can think of for now :smoking:

Thanks for the help guys

Hey man took a Look at your Journal. Seems like you are way under watering your plants and feeding too. Could you tell me how you are feeding or what are you feeding? When you fed too? If you see I write everyday in my journal or every other day and tell what I do.
Do you have a PH pen? Or a PPM stick?? Valuable things when Growing MJ. Also are these Normal Plants or Autos? They seem small for what size containers you have them in. Why so big? All you need is a 1 gallon Pot or Bucket. Some of the plants dont look that healthy but the Popcorn that is showing looks pretty good.

I very well may be underwatering them, as well as underfeeding. They are fed every other day, and watered with ph'd water on non feeding days. I was using fox farm nutrients for the majority of the grow. Last night I gave them a feeding of the flowering formula for my technaflora recipe for success. I must say, 24 hours later, the girls look like they took well to that mix. From here on out I think I will be using the technaflora formula til harvest. About 12 days until I start flushing the 4 oldest plants, and about a week longer for the last.

I do not have a PPM stick or PH pen, but I do check the pH daily with drops, before watering, and the runoff. I definitely grew them in pots that were far to big. This was my first grow so I made some suboptimal decisions along the way. These are in fact autoflowers. Next time I will go from beer cups to either 1 or 1 1/2 gallon pots when using autoflowers.

Like I said, I am anxious for the next project as I learned a ton from this grow.

PH drops are terrible and if you look at my last 2 grows it shows in bioth. My Ph pen was broken too and off. So i went out and bought a PHep5 that auto calibrates itself to the water. And a PPM stick will tell yo how much u feeding it. I understand what you are doing. But I am trying to help you. So if you want to fix these plants and make them right let me know. We are here to help you buddy. And we can make them better over time. You still got plenty of time. So get us some new updated pix and let us know exactly what you did and we can help you.

Hey man I definitely appreciate it, hope I didnt sound condescending or anything. I am a student seeking knowledge! I was looking into digital pH pens right after you mentioned it as a matter of fact.

I will try to get pics up sometime tomorrow, real busy lately. Also will try to grab a pH pen and a PPM stick from the local shop.

As far as what I have done so far...
Started in brown sponge cubes with pH'd water
Once roots show, transplant to 1gallon with FFOF Soil
Gave them a feeding or 2 with Thrive Alive, Root66 combo in early veg. Started low dose of Fox farm Veg nutes (Grow/Bloom) shortly after.
Once they showed sex I transplanted into 2gallon or 3 gallon smartpot growbags.
Followed the fox farm nute schedule online until yesterdays feeding.
They received:
8ML BC Bloom
8ML BC Boost
8ML Sugardaddy
2.5ML Magical
2.5ML Awesome Blosstoms
2.5ML Thrive Alive B-1 Red

Pre-runoff PH 6.5-7
Runoff PH 6-6.5

Been mixing Tap/Distilled to get my PH right for the feed solution without using PH Up/Down (although I do have white vinegar for PH down)

Any other info you need let me know, thanks again man, I do appreciate the advice!

Forgot to mention, I would base the frequency of my waterings on my Soil Moisture probe, whenever the soil was around 2 on a 4 scale, I would water.

Great info, But yeah I would look into a Ph Pen digital and a PPM stick if you want to grow great bud. This is an auto correct we are talking about? Also the soil has enough Nutes in it for the first 3 weeks. I would then hit it with about 800ppm of nutes. and I dont know what nutes you have so I cant tell you what to mix. And why did you transplant 2 times? If they are autos I would have kept in solo cups for 3 weeks then transplanted into 1 gal pot for there life. There autos there roots are not big like regular plants, thus putting more stress on the plant. What do you thnk your growing? A tree?? Its a plant and does not need a huge amount of soil to grow. Look at my DR60 grow shows you roots of the auto in a 1/2 grow bag. I didnt even touch it really and shows you how big the plant got.

So how many days are we at? When did it show sexing? what is the light sched? where are we at ph ?? and how are you testing you ph?? Those drops are terrible and WAY OFF!!
Dont use vineger to bring down the pH, it is messing with the nutes you are giving your plant. Believe me i know. I used to use baking soda to bring up the ph. Bad Idea. Go get some solution, its cheap and very easy to use. Order it offline so it ships. Much easier my man. The more pix the better too. So help us out buddy

They 4 oldest are at 48 days, and the 1 younger one is at 41 days. They all showed sex between 16 and 21 days. Been testing pH with drops, working on getting money together for a digital pH meter. I wont use vinegar anymore, i'll grab pH up/down. My light schedule was 24/0 for first ~2 weeks, 17/7-18/6 since. On 18/6 now. I have been using Fox Farm Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom for most of the grow, and Technaflora nutes from the recipe for success starter kit sporadically. They are in Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil. They went from starter cubes (1 week) to 1gal pots til sexing, then 2 or 3 gallon breathable grow bags. I know now that I should not have repotted twice. Ill try to get some more pics up tonight. Keep in mind, this was my first grow ever, so big learning experience for me. Appreciate all the help though! Thanks

Here is the info on the strain:

Short Stuff Russian rocket Fuel cannabis seeds
Seeds per pack : 10
Type : Auto flowering indica/sativa hybrid
Height : 11 – 18 inches
Harvest : 8-10 weeks from seed
Yield : 18 – 32g per plant
Indoors/Outdoors
Effect : euphoric high
Potency : 9/10

Our russian rocket fuel strain is the result of crossing a heavy indica strain with very dense resinous buds with automatic NYC diesel which adds an exotic high and deeply fruity smell to the mix. This strain gives off a wonderful fuel-like aroma and really packs a punch

Thanx for the info on the beans man. You have a great grow going on for you and will have a great harvest when this is over. Dont worry I made all the mistakes one wants to make. And am here to help spread the love now.

I will and would recommend 20/4 for Autoflowers. You could even do 24/0 the whole cycle. Thus the name AUTOFLOWER. But Some Dark will induce Endophynes or whatever the name is. Correct me if im wrong. But will send these endos to help produce some stretch that we will want. I have the same Nute line so they are pretty easy to follow.
So we are at week 6. So where are you on Feed?? Since you dont have a PPM Stick and I do, and Use those Nutes I then can really help you on this and tell you exactly how much to put in. So just let me know where you are at.

Pics speak 1000 words so the more the merrier. I will help and get some peeps to help you out. I have another site comin along we will spread the word if you like to join. We all help each other out alot. I remember my first grow. It was soo much fun. I couldnt stop opening the cabby and lookin at my babies. Those days....... =)~
