CMH burnt out with about 2000 hours

Wow, that sucks, I guess the up side is they are so cheap you could buy 2 cmh bulbs for the price of a hortilux hps.

So do you think that there has never been a defective hps bulb? I mean one shitty bulb is worse than lumen degradation and useless light spectrum waste? Not to mention higher heat levels fucking with your finer essential oils forming later in flowering. It just doesn't seem like you are going with the best option.

it's a trade off you know? I can pay and get a bulb up the street from the orange for 21. OR I can get CMH online and pay 60 and when I have a problem I will have to run the HPS anyway.

I know there are defects, you may be assuming that I am not educated. But to me for now the most logical option is Cheap and Quick. There may be a loss of quality somewhere along the line... but it's a trade off.

Later this year,I will get 2 or 3 bulbs at a time and run them.... Im not mad at the bulbs just the one that burt out on me.

I keep an HPS on hand for just this reason.

Still, if you don't give the supplier a chance to honor the warranty, it's not really fair to hold a grudge.

I use CMH bulbs at my work (100 watt) and they last for years! they run every night from 4:00pm to 7:00am and will last and last. must have been a bad bulb.
I use a 400 watt CMH for growing and so far so good. dont give up on them!

Im happy to report that they replaced the bulb for me!! so I will continue to run it for now!!
I was very disappointed when it burnt out, and not even for the money, but because I really want to use this bulb from now on in the tent grows... so I have a backup HPS and running CMH in a DR60 cooled by a Stanley.

Thats good they replaced it. Thats the good thing about a warranty these things happen which is why your given a time period. I would've been pissed if it happened and i had no warranty or no honored warranty. Good to know, i love CMH!
