What's new

keeping the stench at bay (hands/shirt/etc)

So we all love to play in the garden. Turning girls, moving them around. Maybe doing some LST or a SCROG. After I leave I smell like I've been rolling in the stuff.

I've tried keeping some rubbing alcohol to clean my hands, then use dish soap but it's getting to the point I might need to wear a long sleeve shirt with gloves. At least then I might be able to go out in public w/o smelling like fresh dank.

What are you guys doing? Busy life and it doesn't always allow complete wardrobe changes and showers after leaving my girls.

I go out and smell like sweet sweet ganja. Try spraying cologne on your hands and rubbing em together. Cologne has alcohol it.

get you some gloves at the pharmacy section of your local walgreens or cvs and maybe a house robe--Hugh Hefner style, and a shower cap too. Where this while in the lab, then remove when leaving, you be like Superman then. LOL

Yeah, I look like a spaceman, but I don't have to worry about smell or other things sticking to me.

For harvest day I shower and have a complete change of clothes after I'm done.

Wow!

I get paranoid the other way round - I always change into clean clothes before seeing my babies to avoid contamination from mites and stuff.

I do try to wear long sleeves and gloves when doing a lot of handling (e.g. harvesting) as I develop a rash from contact with the silica stems that support the trichomes.

I seldom carry when I go out, so I don't give a monkeys if I smell after! lol.

Yeah, another upside with the spacesuit and gloves is that it also protects my babies from shit that I bring in from outside.

Well i was mainly paranoid thinking of that story of the guy who was paying for taxes (i believe) with cash he had stored alongside some dank. The woman said the money smelled of dank and then.... boom he was somehow raided/busted.

The smell is strong and distinct. Not sure everyone knows what fresh sour diesel smells like but i sure do and i want to make sure anyone who does know.. doesn't know me or want to know me. Just trying to cover all the bases.

so all these beauty product manufacturers are making creams and gels that smell or contain MJ or hemp and you do not want it for free?

LOL

I know you pain though, I get my forearms so covered in resin, I often get a itchy rash from it, but I feel it is part of it. These plants get sweat and tears from me( no blood yet) and they give me a rash now and then lol

But it is worth it. For me, an extra suit or rubber gloves would no be the same, and I would be left with sticky used gloves all over the place

Mechanic's hand cleaner, typically found in all auto parts stores in tubs or squeeze bottles, works VERY well for cleaning resin-stained hands. It can also be added to laundry to get the stubborn smells/stains out. Fantastic stuff.

as Simon Says (teehee), soaps such as Swarfega (european mechanics soap) are really good, especially the gritty stuff.. Equally, if I dont have any, I use fairy liquid and sugar (dish soap)..

For smells, my mate was telling me about "cologne hand wipes" and that he uses them for after a smoke at work (he's an office worker) ... he says they're cheap and they work a treat..

I've never actually seen these "cologne" handwipes in the shops, but I've seen similar ones, so it's not too far for me to stretch my imagination :)
