hey i wanted to get an opinion on these plants they have been in for 3 days now and i have just fed them distilled water 1 time when i first put them in then put a little more on them yesterday and i have been spraying their leafs daily. i am thinking about startin my first nutes tomorow, i got some copost tea that is mixed in w/ flora nova grow liquid karma hygrozyme and carbo load for week 1. what do you think are they ready??? are they looking ok??? They are hindu skunk and trainwreck

thanks man right on for this post dude really helpfull

thank You for help, its true i got very hard tap water with EC 0.8
Also noticed that if water with ph 7 stay 24h that ph is goes up to Ph 7.7 (!?) what the hell , is this is normal ? thanks anyway

PS i got only the buffers with Ph meter - its ph 4 and ph 8 but i dont know that i can us it with plants. if not i will buy ph down. regards

Dude, those don't need fed, you just put them into fresh soil it looks like.

What mixture are those plants in?
THat is too much, you use all those ferts and you will have nute burn on your hands....

how often did you plan on feeding those?
If you use distilled water, you should have cal mag standing by, sensi cal

since distilled has no micros in it.

How old are those clones?
Why are you spraying them daily? did they just come out of a cloner dome?

How much of each nute did you mix?
liquid karma should be used once in a while, not always Your also doubling up on NPK ratio, you need to add all of them together and find out what your NPK ratio is... small plants in big pots and wanting to use high amounts of nutes is asking for a huge problem.

If that soil is rich in nutes you must wait around 3 weeks before feeding, or risk burning them and stunting them.

well, with those pH ranges they are acidic and too alkaline. you would have to find a ratio/amount to get the results you need..... pH goes up from chlorine being removed.

I would not use the pH product you listed if it does not say it's not safe for plants.

if you don't have a choice, you should use the pH 4 as long as it's safe to use on plants, even then you must use a small amount; because it would not take a lot.

It would be easier for you to use pH down from a hydro store though.

i watered them before i could get on here

i watered them before i could get on here

I ended up watering them before i could get on here and read what you said. i didnt want them to get to dry and hot.First 2 days i just gave them distilled water a little bit to keep them wet.I was also spraying distilled phd water on the leaves w a mister.

I am using botanicare Readygro moisture formula , and the smaller pots are filled with bcuzz coco w/ perlite mixed in.I had planed on feeding these plants every 2 days or so. I am mixxing my nutrients in a 20 gal res and i have a pump running it over in a long hose that i hand waterd each plant with. I probally waterd each plant for like 5-10 seconds and i didnt have any run off when i did it , the soil soaked it right up.

I put the clones in on the 11th 5 days ago now.

I mixed in 5 ml flora nova grow 5ml hygrozyme 10ml liquid karma and some compost tea o and carboload 5ml

I mixed 7.5 gal and used a little more than half yesterday. these pics are of them 1 full day after they got waterd i was thinking watering agin maybe in 2 days?.

How do they look?? what do you think when i should water next. also should i water w/ plain water next? should i drench them and have run off when i water them?

You better watch out with the amounts you give them, because your going to end up burning them, you not only just put them in there, but you slam them with high nutes.....

The clones had very small(0,5") roots when i started this run at Feb03:

Feb11:

Yesterday:

I reduced the ph from 5,8 to 5,5 and changed the fert solution. Th e nut is 1ml/L, the ph-(59% phosphoric acid) was 1,5ml/6L.
Today:

So, what sould i do for healty green plants?

UPDATE

I changed again the solution.
The nutr. level is same 1ml/L CAV but i switced the ph- 59% P acid to 38%nitric acid.
1,5ml 59% P2O5 is same like i would use 15ml 6% P2O5 or 30ml 3% P2O5... The Canna Aqua Vega containe 2,8% P2O5 and i use 5L fert solution with 1ml/L dosage. So 5ml 3% vs. 30ml 3% P2O5...
I think its a simple extra phosphorus level with many microelement deficiency.
If anybody have better idea let me know please.

24hours later

Ok, first off, it looks like you did not wean your clones out of there dome, this will cause wilting and yellowing of the leaves,
Yellowing of the leaves on clones is also a sign it's feeding off it self to help produce roots...

Your water temps must be lower, your plants look like they are not getting enough air.... like your plants have been saturated too long with water....

how big are the roots? Can you take a picture of your water level and your plants roots>?

have you tested the ppm of your tap water?

1st, bloom 2nd ect)---1st:reduced the ph to 6, 2nd:"red" component, 3:"white"component, 4: ph down to 5.5

I don't understand what you mean by this? WHat pH are you using? Are you using a bottle that has the pH on it? What is the brand?

what is your ppm in your system?

HERE ARE THE PICS OF THEM

HERE ARE THE PICS OF THEM

Here is the plants this is day 10 i think they are looking OK but on the ends of them i can kinda see some burn. my buddy gave me a schedule of nutes to give them but i didnt know that this didnt include the veg, so i should be just giving them the flora nova GROW, not all the other stuff i gave them , so now i know.. I also think i had the light a little close but i moved it up alot too.

Here are the pics let me know how you think they look and maybe what you think i could do now. I also wanted to ask you man , i started this grow doing the 24 hour light at first and now i am thinking that i should be on 18-6, a couple people have told me that. but since they have been in 10 day nows can i still switch it over to 18 or will they start budding????

maybe i can flush the plants??? i plan on watering them now with 5ml/ gal of flora nova grow for a few more weeks.

O i also was wondering what do you think would be a good time to switch these smaller buckets into 5 gal buckets, i should have started them all in small buckets, another mistake i made.. but i am learning as i go along..

thanks alot man for your time looking at these babies

Hello!

Leaves on my plants are drying and burning up, starting from the lowest. The pH used to be little on the low side and I thought it might have prevented magnesium intake (symptoms matched when i looked at pictures on the net) so I changed the nutrient mix and left it at above 6ph. It's been around 2 days since but the situation keeps worsening. I also started flowering at the time. They are very small, but the space I'm growing in has only about 50cm or 20" of growroom in height. The pictures are from 2 days ago, not much growth since but more dry leaves, starting from the tips.
Oh and ignore the dead seedling. ;)

Thanks the answer and excuse me for my english.
The water temp as hot as the air in the environment or in the box, i cant repaire it. I think the root gets enough air, the airpump works 24h.
The ph and the ec of my tap water are ph7,5 and 0,51mS/cm. Its mean about 400ppm i think.

Here are some pics:
02-17
02-19
today:

What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)---1st:reduced the ph to 6, 2nd:"red" component, 3:"white"component, 4: ph down to 5.5

The first step is to reduce the ph from 7,5 to 6,0.
The second step is to add the "A" component(red). I wait 5 miniutes and i add the "B" component(white).
The last step is to reduce the ph to 5,5.
The nutritient is Canna Aqua, the ph- is Advanced Hydroponics of Holland.

I dont know exactly the ppm of the solution, i have not ec meter but i add 1ml ferts to 1L. The last change was higher level yesterday, i added 1,5ml/L. The manufacturer adviced 2ml/L from the second week. I know that 0,5mL/L fert lift up the EC level 0,5mS/cm.

Your plants got root rot dude, sorry to say :(
temps got to be cool, too warm temps will cause the rot on your roots.

You now must clean out the system, remove the water and use hot water/h202 mixture and scrub everything that water came in contact with, otherwise it will return, that includes hoses too.

Make sure no light is getting in there. If you do not fix the rot, your plants will die and this is why your plants are showing problems. When they get this rot, they not only suffocate, but they are not able to absorb nutrients well in the water and they start to show problems you are seeing now.

Get some hydoguard and get some sm90, the sm90 will kill the bacteria after you rinse out your system.

Clones should be dipped into a 2 tsp of h202 per gallon of water to help kill off the rot, this will not kill it totally, this just gives the rot a weaker state so when they are put into the system, the rot is weaker and can be killed off easier.

Your water temps must come down and not exceed 70F
otherwise your problem will return.

lol, you should have waited for me to respond, before you fed them that, because like I said they will get burned with that feeding regimen you got them on.

Now, if you do have to flush, your going to flush every bit of nutrient out of the soil almost.....
You go by the size of the plant when and how much to feed..... no recipes unless they are from people who know how to grow and grow without problems..... always keep in mind that different strains can handle different strengths of nutes.

You can change to 18/6 now if you like, there is a huge debate about leaving the light on 24 hours, but honestly I see a better different in shutting the light off 24 hrs after about a week 1/2.

I try to mimic my grow like as if it was outdoors, this includes weaning light schedules to mimic changes and light shortage due to fall coming.

24/0 18/6 12/12 is what I do.

unless your strain is an auto flowering strain, it won't matter what lighting you give them, when they think it's time they will flower, that is if it's auto flowering.

If it's not, you must flip the lighting to 12/12 in order for them to flower out.

You would have saved yourself so much lost time and effort if you researched a little before stepping into growing....

because now you have a plants that are burning and you never want to just jump up to 5 gallons.... you go by plant height.

1 foot tall plant per 1 gallon size pot minimum
do not go over 3 gallons if your plant is 12 in tall.

Too big of a pot your plants grow slow, and if you mess up or overwater your plants are going to take longer recover times.

Lucas formula is on the high end..... too high for your size of plants.... you go by the size of your plants..... not all strains can take lucas formula....

It looks like your plants are getting fried from high nutes,do you have a ppm meter? what is the ppms of those plants??

How often do you test the pH? When was it low? when was it fixed?

Hi, Thanks for the reply!

I'm using half the Lucas formula, is it still too much? I started with quarter of the Lucas formula, and then it has been a couple weeks with the half formula. I don't have an EC meter yet, I ordered one yesterday.

I'm now measuring ph once or twice a day. I tried to keep the ph between 5-6, but last friday or so I made a mistake and the ph had dropped to around 4 on saturday when I measured. I then replaced the nutrient mix with a new one and left ph above 6 where it still is.

ok, first you need to get the meter, because even using half can still be problem if the strain don't like it....
Either way you are going to have to remove water and replace it with lower nutes... I would wait until you got the pen to do anything, because you need to know a starting point of what your EC/ppms are now, that way you can go lower from that value.

we need to know what EC it is.... make sure you calibrate it first before using it.
If it's a calibration one that is.....

What date was when you changed the water/nutrient mix with the pH at 6....?
You also must get a pH pen, the 2 most important items are a pH pen and a ppm/ec meter, without them, you must go by what your plants are telling you and even this can be difficult when you need to top off and add more nutes, because you don't know how much is in there and or how much needs to be replaced......

Oh, thats right, unfornitatly I do not know much about europe nutes...... I can check, or you can post in the internatiol fourms for help too.....

AS for the stuff you listed, stay away from using that on your plants, You can go to the store and get h202 over the counter with just h202.

Using it in your res will not kill it off completely.... remember to use it just for dipping the roots in.

Dip them in for 5 seconds and pull them out for about 10 seconds.... dip them in there for about 10 seconds and remove and repeat with the other clones one by one.

I will go check on some products that are in Europe and see what I get,
What part of Europe are you from?

MynameStitch

Dr. Doolittle

35% that is nuts, get no more than 2% h202, but olike I said it's not made for putting in your res like this, because it kills off the good and bad, but the bad always wins and the plant is left without good protected bacteria..... Yes, you can dip the whole thing in that is fine.

This h202 is just a boost to help rid them so another method can be used to mix in the water to help prevent it, but like I said you must get your water temps under control, if not you will keep having this problem and you will have to keep re cleaning.

If money is an issue, you can use 2 liter bottles, make sure you have enough to rotate. Put 4 2 liter bottles in a freezer and take one or 2 and put them in the res, when the water becomes near melted, remove those and replace them with the other one or 2 and put the melted ones back in the freezer and repeat.

This will only work though in water that is not overly warm, because if your water gets past 75 you are in need of a chiller, because it will melt those bottles quicker than it can cool the water off.
