What kind of treasures have you found? No, I'm not talking Fleabay or the flea market. I'm talking about random treasure or artifacts you have found from the ground.

I work alot in the ground and spend alot of time trekking about and I have found numerous arrow heads, ancient game stones, ancient stone morters, an antique axe, rings, a few fossils, antique bottles, a 7mm mauser, and numerous other items.

What kind of treasures have you found ?

Peace,
Canna

I have a nice fossil collection that was fun to collect, and I have a few tiny, tiny diamonds from the diamond crater in Murphreesbobo Ark. And two grains of gold I panned.
Sharks teeth from various beahes as well, fun stuff.

I have been into metal detecting on and off for several years now.
The oldest coin I have found is a 1806 2 Reale -Peru. (only worth about $20 at best)
I also have a pickle jar full of modern coins.
I have dug more of those pull tabs from 70s beer/soda cans than I would care to count. :)

I once found an all metal bong buried about a foot deep while metal detecting a field next to a park.

It was home made and too rusty, dirty and damaged to consider using but sure was funny to dig that thing up.

I found what I thought was a weird rock in my driveway a few years back. I drew a face and arms on it because it was shaped like a gnome.

After highschool and other sciency-things, I realized it was a little mammoth tooth. Cleaned it up to where you could tell it was bone, and now I don't know where it is...

I also found a dinosaur bone in my backyard when I was kindergarten (in pennsyvlania) but my mom and teachers and everyone told me it was probably just a cow thigh.
I put it in a tank with some turtles and it rotted, so my mom threw it away.
A few months later my aunt got me a book about dinosaurs and there was a full page dedicated to the exact style/size bone that I had.
And now I'm pissed...

After we moved into our house,I was fooling around with the dogs and walking in the woods and found an old half buried horseshoe from a big draft horse. Right after that I found the coolest old hand push plow with a iron wheel. It still has both the wooden handles on it and now has a place of honor on our berm. Love those old farm and hand tools.

Several years ago, while fly fishing on a world class trout stream I found someones fly box that was absolutely crammed with a stellar collection of appropriate flies for the river. Perfectly arranged and some very cool midge and caddis paterns that were custom.. never seen some of them before, obviously not store bought flies. someones secret weapons... its like a treasure of information for a fly tyer like me... Anyway someone had to be sick losing that and I was happy to find it. I took it to the local fly shop and we put a note on the bulletin board but no-one has ever called to describe it so Its mine now.

You probably already know this, but 1943 pennies can go for tens of thousands of dollars if they're not steel...

1895 penny. it's the size of a 50 cent piece. Found it on the gound in front of a dairy when I was 12. A key to every car I've ever owned and every place I've ever lived.

And..... ready.... every greeting card I've been given since 17. :D

A $100 savings bond my grandma bought the the Christmas of the year I was born. it was lost by my mom but we found it when she finally moved.

I treasure these

how lucky was this, a bag of trim (yup came from the ground) traded straight up for an HP w2338h wide screen 23" LCD monitor.......

a friend waited too long to return this unit (he didn't like wide screen) and the store refused any return at all.

same as the one on the left, too bad I don't do any gaming.......
