BubbaKush 30 days flower - ONE LEAFFING!!

Sorry for the limited information and lack of pictures. I was just visiting a friends garden. I am just wondering what some of you would think could be causing all of the colas to be really stretchy/stringy and all of the new leaf material is all just one to three leafs!! They are Bubba Kush at about 30 days and maybe 3-4 feet in 5 gallon nursery pots....promix soil and I am not sure about the nute program or schedule...Just wondering if someone had some opinions on the matter...I noticed it smelled musty in there and the ventilation is only set to come on when the temps rise...the lights were off and the temps were low so no fans running. Also there seemed to be a lot of plants for the size space, they were all very crammed. Additionally all lights are non air cooled and were about 12-18" from the top of the canopy, I helped him move them up another 12-18"...Their ventilation system keeps the temps low when the lights are one I guess...Any input or opinion is appreciated, let me know if you have any other questions I could possibly answer. This is my buddies garden, but I can ask him specifics and give him some advice. Thanks!

Please provide more information. If someone did give any advice without more specific detail you could possibly exacerbate the problem and end up with more issues.
But for starters when the lights are off humidity will rise. I 'm not saying this is the problem but I know the venting system should still be pumping in fresh air and venting out the old air even on the off light cycle
.
Please fillout as much as you can:

How long has this problem been going on?
What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now?
How Tall are the plants?
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
What Nutrient's are you using?
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
How often are you feeding?
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients?
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect)
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
How often are you watering?
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
What size bulb are you using?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ?
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's?

Again, I am sorry for the lack of information all that I know is what I posted.....I was looking for general opinions based on the details I gave in the post...It's all good, I was just curious about it anyway...Thanks again.

Most plants return to single leaf structure in the bud forming stage. As far as the stretch is concerned, it could be many things. Too much N, dim lights (from overcrowding?), or a late repot come to mind.

I say with the information given, that the plants light cycle was interrupted and it is reveging, resulting in the loose structure and one fingered leafs.

i think its a combination of things like 2 low temp, 2 many plant 4 2 little space ,and its probly 2 moist because no fans on there4 the plants are not happy and as a result they go back to 3 leaves structere the better they feel the more leaves they will get but 3 is much 2 little at least 5 is normal imes maybe eleven is the max thats wat u want gl
