I have a medical grow in the last week of flowering. I have had troubles with PM since the begining. The first clone i purchased had PM. The store owner told me it was salt buildup. I didn't know any better, and now I a paying. Anyways i have spotted about a handfull of 1/4 inch or smaller spots on some of the small leaves. Basically I am wondering if i should chop asap or simply try to keep it under control for a few more days. Also do I have to worry about PM after i chop or will it die off? Is there any special attention needed during drying? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not much you can do now. At the worst I have had to wash my weed. No it does not really do anything to quality or appearance. I took my reservoir, filled it with water and with my nossle on full blast(think i had it on the flat or jet setting) I started bud by bud, plant by plant using my hose like a pressure washer. I had a pretty bad problem and in the end after 5 hours of washing about 6 pounds it was clean. I did this as we were clipping, so before chopping the plant out of its pot i washed it, then hung them as we clipped. worked out fine. Zero mold to been seen or heard of again.

to make sure this does not happen again, invest in a sulphur burner. Plus what red bull said.

Don't sweat small spots on your leaves... even your small crystallized bud leaves.. though I hope it hasn't progressed that far yet...

Do what Red Bull suggested and increase air circulation within the room... all make sure you are periodically venting that air out and bringing in new air.... the more you can do this the better for everything..

IF you don't have one... get a small portable dehumidifier and start it running in the room...

What you really need to keep an eye out for is the MOLD IN THE BUDS.... If you have fat buds and you notice that small bud leaves coming out if it are discoloring or dying.... try pulling gently on the tip of the leaf.... if there is mold inside there the leaf will pull right out....

If you have mold... you need to REMOVE IT AND ANY MATERIAL DIRECTLY NEAR IT......

This is what you should be looking for at this stage.... BUD ROT.... increase your air flow lower your humidity... and keep an eye out for tiny bud leaves that have discolored or died in an otherwise healthy looking fat bud...

Peace... and relax....soon you'll be medicating... ;-)

Thanks for the responses. I added a second clip fan tonight. I am in a dr80 with a ac 600. I have a temp/hum control, and my max/mins are temp 80-60 hum 35-20. I have 3 large plants bushed out wall to wall, basically sea of green, but lst 3 plants unstead of many small ones. Anyways it is pretty crowded, and i wonder if that has been part of my problem. I cut all of the small leaves tonight that had pm. I also have been treating with a 10$ milk solution. Does anybody have any experience with this late into flower. Also does anybody know if pm still grows post chop? thank again

I had PM pretty bad last summer. I did the milk thing with fairly good success until late flower. I couldn't tell it was getting into the buds until I chopped a couple of samples.

It sounds like they're really close to being done anyway, if that's the case I'd chop now before it starts to get into the buds.

I did what was already recommended and washed the crap out of it before harvest with lukewarm water so as not to knock the trichs off. I cut it up smaller than usual, dissecting the bigger buds and "express" dried it under the light with a fan blowing on it constantly.

It was ok, I smoked most of it myself with no ill effects other than taste. It was a little harsher from the quick dry and you could taste something, not sure how much of that was psychological tho.

I ended up eradicating it using Eagle 20, a Dow Agro product that seems to be the knockout punch that grape growers use. More importantly tho, I really concentrated on keeping them healthy and vigorous.

I sprayed all moms with Eagle 20 which is systemic and active for about 2 weeks and then took clones and quarantined them away from the others so I'd get a PM free fresh start and it worked.

I got it off Ebay for about $60. For me it's about 200x a lifetime supply but none of my friends have had to buy their own. I also tried Serenade but it stinks and imo isn't very effective used alone. It also seemed to be very hard on young plants.

Now I make sure enviro conditions are good and pay closer attention to avoid autistic stoner moves like forgetting to water. I also started foliar feeding with seaweed while they're young and into veg as it seems to help their overall health and immunity to bad stuff.

I've never had a problem with PM before it got really bad everywhere outside last year. All the trees had it, the grass, my flowers and veggies, so it was unavoidable. Had it not been for that I don't think the chemotherapy would have been necessary.

Just my 2 cents on it.

BG~ if you have the PM, you might very well have the GM inside the nugs... should take one of the main colas & begin to peal back one of the nug chunks to see 'inside'... trying to not break it off, but if that's what it takes to see, then...

If you've flushed for a several days already (& at seeing appx 15% amber) they are ready to chop. I like to flush 12-14 days, but if had mold, would chop as early as I possibly could... like as few as 3-5 days flush if need be.

BTW, yes, the PM (what's alive) will still be there after you chop & will stay alive for as long as they can pull food from the plants (as long as there is still moisture in the plants) & especially if the RH stays above mid-high 40's w cooler temps. Drying in a warmer room w lots of air exchange is the ONLY thing you can do for the drying... will halt any further growth & begin killing whats there w/in a day or so. Same with the GM.

Peace & hope they work out!

You want to use a fan to increase airflow and a dehumidifier for your bloom cycle because they're more susceptible to mold. That will keep any new mold from developing on your buds. mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water and apply sparingly with a Q tip to the areas where you see mold that's already developed.

Hmmm maybe. But a fan will also blow more spores around the room also. Neither a fan or a dehumidifier will keep mold that is already established from growing. Chemicals might.

Go buy a product called dr. dorights pest control and saturate your garden with it. It kills powdery mildew and the plants love it. A buddy turned me on to the new product and i called the company to ask questions. They know their shit. check them out.

I control my pm issues by spraying the clones once when put into flower with a 10-20% h202 solution. (2 part h202, 8 part water)
