If you want some custom smart pots right now is the time to order them, I called on Friday of last week and they were ready to ship Tuesday. It took me till today to get down the hill in to town and over to the bank...

soil, perlite, and amendments are up next...

thanks for the help Planty. I'm gonna try and max out my little 20x40 plot this season. up to 50 gallons per plant per watering? time to upgrade my little ro unit lol. anyways, definitely pulled up a seat for this. you guys (tom hill, nomaad, humboldt, butte) are my mr miyagis of the outdoor grow. now i just need to find a good feeding style to marry to a good soil mix. and this talk of supplemental lighting... might just take my jc, a suposed clone direct from swerve ogk/master outdoors. such a hardy fast growing great smoking plant. but the intensity of the preflowers had me second guessing if it would be smart to take her out in may.

Sounds good bro. I am still undecided on going with 200 or 300 gallon smart pots for one of my gardens. I have seen ten pounders in 200's but I would hate to miss out on all that extra growth.

Come on bro! You should roll with the 300s.. I got mine made custom..72 wide 18 deep. Gonna break out the D6 real soon if the weather holds and get the yard all squared away. the ground is still so moist... If you think about the root ball being related to the size of the plant the 300 gallon root ball will be 50% larger than the 200 gallon root ball..wonder how that relates to the branch structure up top eh? I can't believe you're on IC Mag right now bro! You should be eating some roast pig or doing some thing OTHER than surfing the pot boards!

On another note bro I'm starting to make cuttings for the season. Will have final tallies maybe even some things rooted by the time you've rejoined us main landers

Have fun in the garden!! Good luck this year! I'm going to use sprayers from Drip Works in Willits , the green 360 degree 14 gallon per hour ones, 4 per bed.

Thanks bro! I don't really want to post a list of what I'm going to put out and jinx myself when I'm tryin' to get all my shit together. When I know for sure what I'm going to do and my yards all squared away, I will share the pedigree of the girls that i've got on chain an axle waiting to roll.....

By custom do you mean they are shallower and wider? Are they normally taller than 18"? I was just crunching the numbers and I am thinking I might as well go with the 300's.
I have been getting plenty of beach time in but I am always thinking about my plans at home. I have a lot I need to do as soon as I get home and the more I have in place the better. Still trying to find the right help for the year. Some people just don't know a good oppourtunity when it is offered to them. I really would love a break this summer but it doesn't look like I will be getting much of one. Sounds like I need to order my smartpots as soon as I get home to beat the rush.

Yes they are wider and shallower @Planty's Plantation the standard 300s are not the right size for what I want to try to do. On the help tip..Screw em. My opinion is SHUT THOSE OTHER GARDENS DOWN!! Maybe do like 12-18 more at the main plot and give more love to that main garden...The plots ran by help never do well because they always want to do their own shit on your coin and they will no matter what the instructions or what you do yourself... Another idea is just to put maybe 10-15 ladies in the other gardens and run them on auto pilot and put some extra ladies at the main spot too but my voice in my head always says "Planty you're always doing so much remember everything you add means something you've got to take to find a balance between all the grows you're trying to successfully finish!"...If you roll with 72 ladies at your main spot and do a 7 per average you'll do better than if you put out 108 ladies over 3 spots and get a 4 per average...you'll also work less..this is coming from a guy who commutes 100 miles between spots...so what the fuck ..

Sup bro I am going to still be using Sunshine Mix #4 & Grade 4 perlite...I'm going to go with Fish meal, fish bone meal, Nutri Rich, kelp, biozome, oregonism xl, lime and gypsum and worm in the mix...I'll top dress with more of the same and maybe some extras too like N & P bat and some sea bird 10-10-2 we'll just see what I do when its actually happening but I know for sure that every thing else is going in!

Planty... I agree that you'll probably get a better yield with 72 at one spot than 108 at 3... and you'll also stay sane. Focus is often the most powerful tool in the kit.

Humboldt- good to see you, bro. Looking forward to another great season!

Ya didn't know I was rollin with that much chunky stuff? I mentioned numerous times I planned on using Grade 4 perlite...If you didn't know what that was and did not try to find out it isn't my fault I had to tell you that Grade 4 perlite and coarse lava rock are comparable

Cation Exchange Thing? Do you even know what CEC is? All media has it Coco, Hydroton, peat moss, perlite, mixes of peat moss and perlite amended with organic matter...they all have a cation exchange capacity..so what CEC Thing will I be missing out on? As far as I knew coco and potassium don't play nice...something essential to my flowers life cycle...

I really want to know why you think I should use 25% EXACTLY coconut coir and more importantly what type and brand I should use... Also want to know why you'd suggest 25% when you're going to use 40? How'd you determine that number (40%) and why? And 25% for me..and why...

A term that is achievable in numerous ways(aeration) consisting as dialog? Maybe we have a different definition of dialog..To me is to exchange ideas and increase my understanding of a subject.

Please start yer own thread if ya wanna goof or whatever..I'm actually gettin my grow on this year and lookin to share ideas and practices with those doing the same...I don't know what you're doing but the way it reads, you're just throwin things ya read on this board around vaguely just to post..Please stop doin it in my thread.

Ha! great shit! I'm subscribing to your thread planty. I'm getting my outdoor set up ready now as well. Much smaller than what you are doing though. Mine will be a swamp grow. My first attempt. 35g rubbermaid containers. Medium will be my own mix of perlite, compost, peat moss, d. lime, blood, bone, and kelp meals...though I'm rethinking the bone and blood meals. I've used them indoors but never outdoors. I'm told that animals love them. I've got a couple hundred gallons mixed up now and ready to go out. I may go ahead and put it out and then start another couple hundred gallons with guano or something else. I doubt I will start a journal though. Sketchy about posting pics. I like your description of dialog. This is going to be a good thread with great info. I will be hanging around. I may steal a few of your ideas though. I can't believe you said
..I'm actually gettin my grow on this year...
Dude, it sounds like you REALLY got your grow on last year!! I'm looking forward to see what you do this year. How many of the 300g containers will you have? Sorry if its already posted. I only made it to the post I quoted. I will read the rest as soon as I post this.

I picked up my supplemental lights today...bought the store out of 45w daylights...
I had 72 made..ill probably fill 36-50 this year..between me and the help I think 40 will be the right #...may do a light deprivation crOP but pulling tarP manually sucks..and sungates are pricey..so far bubba and d.o.g are. Going to make a confirmed appearance...possibly have some old. Betsy turn up if the cannabis gOds smile

for the 22 days that you add light out side... how long do you leave them on for? Do you change the timing up?

I was thinking about doing this, this year at my friends spot.... He grows in his backyard and has for years but he gets mediocre sunlight. Was thinking about adding a 250 watt hps spot light on the side. The kind with a motion detector.

ROOTWISE - Checked your green house thread, AWESOME! *****(5 stars!) Hope my girls are BIG like yours in early june this year!! should be if I have my way

Globel - the supplemental light is ran for like 53 days or some thing...It looks like I may even get my plants out door in April the way things have been going....if that is the case then it'll be more like 83 or 4 days that the supplemental lights run. I am going to run the light on a 17/7 schedule and step the lights down to match the june 22 cycle by taking off 15 minutes every few days till the timer matches the day length. I will have light in the yard and in the green house...10 pound kush trees here I

Mr Natural
- My neighbors are doing 125 30 gallon pots this year.. I wonder how ya'll will do, my 65s last year were completely root bound and the roots grew out of the bottom in to the ground...
