The bubble that appears on internodes?

Wherever the plant branches a "bubble" is formed (structural support for the branch?)

Is there a science term?

'node' maybe (looking at wikipedia's page for "stem" indicates i might be right), although the bulbous part may still have a unique name

There's a parasite called a "Scale" that looks like what your describing. A small bubble that affixes itself to the stem or leaves, doesn't really move all that much and looks like a bubble.

If it is scale or mealybugs, manual removal is the simplest method.

sometimes i get a bubble at the node where branch meets the main stem. usually during that inital phase of rapid vegetative growth.

I think that was what he was talking about too. Not sure on the exact science of it. From what I can tell it is almost a brace of sorts, but I would love to hear any specific botanical knowledge regarding it :)

Thanks for the pic shaunmulok, that's what I'm talking about.
I wonder if it correlates with higher yielding phenotypes?
