Do you get along with/relate to your co-workers ?

Along the same lines as the "what do you do for a living" thread, I thought this might make for a good topic.

I work in the pharma industry, and have what I consider a very good job, and a fairly high position at work. But I feel like I barely fit in with my co-workers. I have nothing in common with them, and I cant say that any of them are people Id hang out with in real life. Dont get me wrong, they are nice people, but socially I just dont fit in with any of them.

Anyone else?

I don't usually care one way or the other, but I've been lucky. A LOT of stoners work in the entertainment industry, and were blatant and unrepentant about it. I never had much trouble relating to them. In fact, my co-workers were really the only reason I stayed in the business for ten years. Practically everything else about it blew huge donkey dicks.

I wish I were so lucky...I can usually spot someone who smokes a mile away....There are some folks that I know party who work on the loading dock. BUt in the labs and offices where I work theres not a soul that does. They are nice people, but just not folks I would feel comfortable around in a social setting.

Sure I get along with them, and occasionally hang out w/ a couple of them. Go to happy hours, that kind of thing.

But none of them know or would suspect I smoke - I definitely fly well below the radar.

My co-workers pick me up and we blaze one on the way to work every morning.

Sometimes my boss will show up in the morning with a 24 of brew for the crew.

So yeah. I guess you could say I get along with them.

not so much im the youngest in my office by far im 28 and the average age in my office is prob around 45ish. they are all descent enough people i guess but its just like being in elementry school or high school with a bunch of gossiping girls. no disrespect to middle aged women but damn you all are as bad as 15 yr old girls. its all gossip and this person gets to do this or that and I dont bla bla bs. oh well theres one cool co-worker hes an attorney and older but hes about my only cohort in this place. oh well its a good job and pays well, i just act like im a straight arrow like all of them and blend in and fly way way below the radar.

I know exactly whatcha mean... No, I don't really find anything in common with any of my co-workers... I know a bunch of them smoke - but; pretty much each of them would assume I'm a narc if I ever partook with them (I have that problem I look too straight edge and wound up to be a smoker).

Come to realize i'm one of those odd people in the world.. I probably should go retire into the mountains and become a hermit... I definitely don't fit into any of the norms...

My co-workers and employees (yeah i have subordinates unfortunately) drive me crazy with stupidity; between people who live for black/white & manuals, to those who are just completely inept; driven myself to insanity trying to keep it together lately...

I have worked a lot of jobs in my life and its always my rule not to associate with anyone outside work. I do it for a number of reasons. I have worked jobs in the past where I would work 40-70 hours a week on a regular basis and would consistently be working with the same people. After being around someone for 70 hours a week I am ready to rip there fucking heads off. Secondly, and probably most importantly when I go home I like to smoke, and when I am at home I stay high. As said in previous threads I don't like to be around people when I smoke. I generally don't like people in the first place and when I smoke I really don't like them. I also don't want to mix smoking with work. Things could start to get real blurry and its a thin line to be walking on especially when your being paid a good wage. I also live in the south and frankly smoking is looked down upon. Where I live southern baptists tend to rule and so things are left better unsaid. I don't want to risk my livelihood over some stupid shit. Maybe if the laws were different I'd mix the two but for now work and pleasure ALWAYS stay separate. Heed my advice. Obviously if your young and work in a kitchen or at a grocery store or something like that its a different story, but for some of us we have to be careful.

Normally No, I don't get along with co-workers. Except for one job I had as a door to door canvasser, trying to sell windows. Every single person who i worked with at that job light up. on the job no less. I remember smoking bowls before knocking on doors to chill out. Fun times.

What to take away: Never ever, answer your door to anyone. Cops and Salesmen mostly tho.

I hate working,and I guess I've hated just about everyone I've worked with!Everything about it from the hard physical labor being an electrician to the ignorant individuals scullin along the hallway acting like your doing something...And I worked a long time like this really not liking life much at all..all the bullshit.Better to stay away from the office peeps or you may be accused of stalking...Yea settle in with bending pipe.Man I hated it so bad looking back on it I dont know how I made it this far.I just turned 50 and the thought of working with these handtools until I'm in my 60s?Yea that'll work out..Then came overgrow out of my little magic box here I just may have something!Thank you overgrow and icmag.God I hated work.Take my advice really try to find something you're going to like to do everyday,I know that you hear that shit way to often too but its so true.I hated workin..A month or so ago my best friend who really got me started in all this fuckin electrocuted himself on the job.You just dont know how fuckin hellish it is that we have to work.What a waste

Haha, besides me being the only white person where i work, we get along just fine, sometimes i get shit, but it comes with the territory, but besides all that bs my boss is the only person i know who can smoke as much and more than me. everyone else in the room usually smokes too but rarely keeps up while in the studio.

I love my co-workers. Love them to death. There is a culture in the company I work for; take your work very very serious and always do the best job possible, but when it comes to personal interaction it all smiles, bullshit, and having a good time.

Not everyone can handle it, but the best can and that's the reason we are doing so well while everyone else in our industry is dead in the water almost.

That's who I want working here. It is my Division after all.

I kinda feel like my job is just "hanging out." I sit around smokin blunts and check in patients... slowly but surly I make it threw the day(usual 10 hours 10-8). Lunch is all ways free and some times we get it twice. There is the off occasion I sample some edibles that taste nasty... but for the most part they taste bomb.... Updating the menus online on forums and battling with little forum trolls on weedtracker. And trying guilt my boss into paying me more money as I smoke his inventory.... I was friends with my co workers before I started working here.... Boss is the only guy I dident know before and He is chill as fuck.... talking about he makes his own universe with his thoughts and he brings people around him with his ora ... the guy is fking awesome...

Its called work for a reason. I fucking hate working as well as most of the people i am surrounded by. I get along with them the best i can and there are only a small few that I would love to rip there heads off but i need money.

I work in a so called drug free work place so its kind of kept on the down low but i do know a few who party but i don't smoke with any of them for reason .
