DEPENDING ON THE BRAND (not sure about botanicare): one '3 gallon' brick of gro-tek compressed coco will expand to almost 3ft³.
BeatsPeat is 5 kilos and it'll expand to 3ft³.
There are ~22 us gallons in an expanded 3ft³ block. One will hopefully fill just over 4 of your 5 gallon pots. Botanicare is supposed to be excellent, so I'd hope that it'd expand to at least 3 ft³. Ask your local hydro shop or drop them a message@ http://www.americanagritech.com/contact

thats an interesting question speed, i asked the same one before, i ended up getting around 12 gallons i believe, roughly. i added a litte bit of dirt to my mix and filled 15 gallons up.

A 5kg bale of Botainicare CoCogro will expand to fill 9, 2 gallon nursery containers. or about 18 gallons. IME

the 5 kilo brick of botanicare filled 7, 5 gallon pots which comes out to 35 gallons worth of coco. I think you get your moneys worth from the brick....
