Well, even though the guy painted a huge neon target on his face, bullshit, the DEA will continue its mad march stepping on anyone it can. These are like soldiers without a fucking leash man, no limit.

Federal policy is to arrest people for growing marijuana dude. Don't blame the cops. And don't blame the federal prosecutor as that person is paid to prosecute people for growing one marijuana plant.

Don't get me wrong, no love lost for this jack ass Sweetin, but men with guns only enforce the legislation legislators pass.

I'm sorry but this is bullshit. Maybe it can be true, or in some places, but 'men with guns only enforce'...no. In my state, legislation has passed that individuals who poss. less than 2 oz should be ticketed, not arrested, save space, which is constantly low, for real offenders. All but one county in the state ignores this, others complain of the lack of infrastructure or make excuses some other way.

Fact is, they WANT to haul your ass in for thinking you can go against them, they WANT to impound your ride or seize your house. They LIKE (most I've met) to know that they CANNOT be fucked with, and thinking anyone who would oppose them aint nothin BUT fish in a barrell.

There is no karma here, its illusion, no constant right and wrong, no automatic payback for tyrants and pigs. It's fuck them or they fuck you. I agree, if we don't start literally fighting back (what did our forefathers expect from militia? high powered VOTING?) we will lose the country we helped to build. Me, I'm on the hunt for a good place outside the lines of the US. But goddamn those SOBs got offices and bases spreading in colombia, africa, everywhere else, what you gonna do. I'm planning a way out, but if enough people are waking up to fight this corporate greed machine, if it looks like we could have a government who is concerned about it's citizens over it's corporations, I'd love to be here. But I've lost nearly all faith in america, as a 'good' 'healthy' or 'fun' place to be. We are nothing to them. Nothing but cows in a field, awaiting salvation and slaughter.

I wouldn't jump on Cat Jockey. I agree with him, personally.

Think of it like this: the cops are rabid dogs. You don't expect a rabid dog to be docile, do you? What do you do? You put the dog on a leash. The person who gives too much slack in the leash is as responsible as the dog.

I know, harsh metaphor (since I can tell no one likes cops, I figured it'd be fun :)). What Cat Jockey is saying is that they shouldn't be allowed to run free in the first place. We should "shorten the leash" by fixing the laws to legalize marijuana so that these rabid dogs can't bite us any more.

^^^ It's a good metaphor but look at it like this - WE are supposed to be the ones holding the leash. The police are supposed to be there to serve and protect US, the people, not the damned fat-cats and their paid-for politician lackeys. What we all supposed to do - get rich and be invited to such and such a fucking fund-raiser where we get the opportunity to part with our hard-earned cash in return for favoritism? Fuck all that. That's NOT the process we want going for us. What we want is a just system where we are the ones being protected - not the fuckers with the money. The only way for us to return things to the way they're supposed to be is to get angry and get active in a physical fucking sense. Hang a few cops - hang a few corrupt lawyers & judges - then I guarantee you we won't be long about seeing a fucking change. Sure, some of us will most likely die in the doing but that's always been the price paid for freedom. I'd be willing to take my chances because I'd rather be fucking dead than live to see the world go to shit.

Bottom line:

Cops are like everybody else.

They want a good paying, easy, job with little to no personal risk.

The entire reason that Harry Anslinger started the "reefer madness" was because the end of Prohibition would leave a lot of cops out of work!

Cops love reefer laws because they are easy, safe, felony arrests.

Felony arrests are how cops keep score, and the how they get promoted.

They would much rather go after reefer users / growers than tangle with Heroin or Coke or Speed dealers.

Gee ... that could get dangerous!

I wholeheartedly agree that we should have the power. In fact, we are the ones with the power. We have to vote in pro-marijuana legislators. We have to rally, email everyone, get involved.

Anything short of that, and you're not taking responsibility; you're adopting the "I'm a victim" mentality.

Yeah, like the Jefferson quote, the freedom tree demands it's blood, it's like a living breathing thing, requiring sacrifice.

I really try to stay out of such issues here, they get 'powerful' quick. But one can only read so many stories of reckless negligence before they just gotta say how they feel. We damn sure ain't the apple of their eye, lol. But we're in the crosshairs right.

But see, that's what I'm saying. Certain communities pushed hard in the right places, got the state to "shorten the leash" by encouraging less harsh penalties, and no required arrest, but these fuckers (cops) arrest by the dozen smokers when they WANT to. And I'd be willing to bet, there aren't too many cops('upholders' of the law) asking their supervisors, 'Ok boss, the state passed xxx two years ago, when are we gonna stop bringing these 'criminals' in?

There's some major mentality defects and unbalances here, people itching for a fight? idk, but simple legalization or decrim isn't going to clear the air, its all the 'greed' and 'numbers/appearance at any cost' that has me in limbo. Really, I thank you all for just being here, helps me cope, at least here I know people aren't ready to cower to the law just because it's the law. Sure I know smokers, but not many actually interested in how their country handles them.

It'll take time and patience, GroBoy. It's still a sched 1 drug and illegal at the federal level. It also isn't fully legalized in any state, yet. Until that happens, and for a few years after that even, we just have to be patient and pay the price of being a satyagrahi.

I don't think what happened to that guys is right but I do have to say he is about as dumb as a box of rocks for advertising his grow on the news. More than 99 plants? That sounds like a "please arrest me pretty please" to me. The DEA has overstepped their bounds one more time. They are just as scared of loosing their jobs as we are of going to jail. If they want to start a war on legal growers maybe its time for us to fight back instead of sitting around and watching our brothers and sisters get busted for helping old people with cancer. We need to campaign for public education on cannabis and DEA propaganda. These high horse riding agents must be shown that in Colorado we have a right to grow and use cannabis and they are here to protect us. If they attack the very industry that is here to produce and distribute cannabis in a safe legal way they are attacking the people of Colorado and sending a message that says they have no honor and serve only themselves.
This 420 you can bet your ass I will be waving my flag high at Civic Center Park. But that's still not enough. Until we start educating the public and showing them that everyone disapproves and sees through their lies no progress will be made. They will keep using propaganda to gain the support of the ignorant and our fake "ethical" battle will continue.

Federal drug agents won’t pursue pot-smoking patients or their sanctioned suppliers in states that allow medical marijuana, under new legal guidelines to be issued Monday by the Obama administration.

So why are they not arresting the feds that are distributing to the federal cannabis patients, you know the original 5 of 12 from the 70's those should be a close to home bust. D.E.A stands for DOUCHEBAGGING EVERY AMERICAN!

They're waiting for them to die so they can blame weed.

"Nope, nope. Definitely wasn't the brain tumors, it was the weed."

Im curious to see how this all plays out .

Will he be prosecuted under federal law ?

He is in jail right now , he will be arraigned tommorrow.

The DEA would actually have to work to bust the cartels, it's easier to bust Americans who announce what they are doing and aren't backed by hordes of gang members that can achieve assassinations on both sides of the border. . . . .

Actually that is very far from true--
Rabid dogs...along with simply "Mean" ones....are "Put Down"...because they will even attack their Handlers--
Now there is an Analogy that they might take notice in!!:pirate:

Well 9 News latest report says that he had 224 plants in "various stages of development". It also says that he was in violation of state law, which doesn't really surprise me. The moral of the story: stay in strict compliance with state laws.

"The Drug Enforcement Administration says Bartkowicz had more plants than state law allowed. He had fewer than 15 certificates showing he was a caregiver," DEA Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Sweetin told 9Wants to Know Monday."

Man, this guy is a fucking idiot, what a terrible representative of the MMJ industry.

Mmmm. Agreed. It's bad enough the damn cops being as much on our backs as they already are without fools like Bartkowicz giving them even more reason.

There is no law against working to change the laws. However, if it is not perfectly clear at this point, one should not be breaking the law while working to change the laws. This case also perfectly illustrates my previous admonishments against "poking the tiger".

Loose lips still sink ships.
