I smoke out of a bong but this herb i got pops a little, not much but on every bowl so far... Anybody know why some weed does this?

hahahaha....I wonder...I had a bit not to long ago that "popped"...no matter what way it was smoked. I just attributed it to being poorly trimmed / a bit leafy....

Contaminated weed tends to pop, as does weed with seeds in it (even if the seeds are immature).
They could also be small immature seeds without hard shells.

you're either smoking seeds in every bowl without realizing it,
OR
the person who grew your product did a very poor flush, or no flush at all.
when theres too many nutes left in the actual plant material when its dried,
it tends to have a sizzling, sparking, or popping effect when being burned.
lol i have smoked mites, and they burn quietly and peacefully.

also weed that's been overfed and underflushed likes to pop.
when i was younger, smokin a bowl with my bros, i lit it up and the MOST amazing thing happened. If it hadn't been corroborated by 2 other people i wouldn't believe it myself.
I blazed the bowl real big, leaving no scrap of green behind. The herb burns up, crackling and snapping, until there's only a large glowing ember in the center of the bowl. Then, with a loud pop, the ember explodes upwards into the air. It spins around as it rises and, reaching an apex, what's left of the ember explodes again and scatters in all directions.
AMAZING!

I didnt smoke any of those big leaves so thats kinda misleading. I was just too lazy to take another picture.. dial up sucks! But yea maybe its a little leafy.

I concurr with over fed (PK) and underflushed... theres nothing worse than listening to (or tasting) a spliff full of potassium phosphate

That is just a see through part of the nug, i dont think theres any seeds.

you know if it's flushed right by the colour of the ash, white'ish or grey is good, the blacker the worse of a cure or over feeding. Popping is usually because of seeds exploding under the heat. Little mites is a possibility, never heard of it tho.
As for it being at the proper moisture level and quality that is news to me, never heard of good weed popping and i grow awesome shit with a perfect cure and flush.
