How Long Does it Take for Floramite to KILL?

L

LolaGal

Does anybody Know?

Washed a river of Floramite through my plants, checked them a few hours later, and still see spider mites movin and shakin.

How long does it take to kill them? Is it instant death?

First time user, long time spider mite hater.

Dude I just got online to ask the same question. Stop stealing my questions man. :)
I hate these fuckers too. Looked under the scope. They are two spotted mites. Yikes.

if you mixed it right, and applied it right, then they should be gone within a week...

oh, it was wonderful stuff for killing

oh, it was wonderful stuff for killing

It was a miracle killer of insects.

Used from I guess 1940s to 1975 ish.

You could spray your garden and nothing would bother it.

You could spray your door and flys wouldn't light on the screen.

You could spray it on anything and it would kill bugs.

BUT, unfortunately, birds ate the bugs that had been sprayed.

The birds eggshells came out soft and 95% of the bird eggs broke when laid or during incubation.

Lots of bird species almost died out, like the Bald eagle.

It is likely blamed for the supposed extinction of the Ivory Billed Woodpecker and other birds.

So the government banned it and most of the world has quit using it.

but it was good stuff. Only way to get it anymore is using Kelthane, which is a powder and is hard to get in a small amount. And I am talking 100 lbs is considered a small amount.

Would you use azatrol or floramite, or avid?

Thanks for the informative answer :smokeit:
Do you, or anyone have such an answer on how to keep mites away and once you have them, how to destroy them? Dip or spray them? floramite or azatrol? So many different answers to the same question!! haha

FLORAMITE takes 6-8 days to start killing. It builds a cell structure around the leaves to keep mites away, it doesnt work like avid or azatrol which are more systemic based sprays. I only use floramite, it takes a few days to kick in, but if your drench them.. your good. : ) i spray twice in flower..first day.. an 8th day, just to be extra safe.

I had forgotten what plants looked like that were not all bit up with mites.

What a difference Floramite makes.

First spraying killed them for about 6 weeks, then I saw a few and so I drenched them again. Hope that lasts till harvest is over, I wil keep spraying some Safer 3-1 for backup.

I have some of Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance, I got for Christmas I have not used yet.

I see dead mites the next day? They ain't moving anyways...lol.

So can I do an azatrol drench on rockwool clones and dip them in floramite and foliar them every 3 days twice? sound right? whats best for aeroponics? Advice is very greatly appreciated

gro4sho: I have not used azatrol, but since it is a neem product, I think it would coat the leaves and keep the Floramite off them.

I would just spray the hell out of the floramite. if it is was mine.

aeroponics would be the bomb lucky dog.

hahaha, i was just thinking the same thing while looking at my girls. I, too, just got done with a long battle against the borg.
They do look gorgeous when they're not all eaten up and spotted white, don't they?
Congrats on your victory over those nasty things.

LolaGal: So can I dip my clones in a floramite solution or just spray them like crazy?
And does anyone have the "best" dosage of floramite to be most effective?

If clones are small enough, the best thing is to dip them upside down into a bucket of Floramite.

I use 1/4 tsp per gallon. I got mine from Ebay. It was a present from Canna Clause. That is the recommended dosage on the bottle.

It will kill birds, don't dump the leftovers outside. Kills bees too.

Don't get into water supply or runoff water.
