yeah some venting by some but also really good wisdom and advice. here is some math: 1200w you will get maybe 1lb 4 or 5 times a year. do the math, subtract gear, nutes, utilities, then split that 3 ways = your 1/3rd cut.

grow a pound of hemp and see how that feels because you ignored mites and over fertilized.

I think he can do better than that. If he puts in the work learning and paying attention and doing what needs to be done he might get 1.5 pounds on the first round. Then get 3000 watts going with light rails and he'll be good.

Do your self a favor and look into vertical section here. Turn two 600's into a vert set up and you could possibly be looking at small but efficient grow that could pocket you some nice change. Look around in the vert section some guys are pulling 1.5 gpw. you could be looking at 4 pounds a harvest if you get it dialed in. But of course like anything it come with experience.

I deffinitly wouldnt of quit my job, sounds like u just got ur own place with friends. Not a place to commericially grow. Do u already have all the plants started, genetics decided and equipement purchased? This is an apartment? Might have been a little bit of a bad idea... Sorry man i once had the same plan although i sitll didnt quit my job, but theirs alot of problems with what ur trying to do

like others have said, with the operation pretty small you will find your wallet hurting before you turn a good profit. My apologies for not thoroughly reading through to check your experience, but prior experience in growing is essential - Being able to assess problems on your plants easier helps BIG time.

Small things like learning the difference between a P deficiency and overferting, the diff between cal/mg deficiencies and how to fix them. How to tell if a plant is rootbound, guarding against pests, avoiding pH issues, flush timing, appropriate dry and cure, and cloning are all general knowledge growing subjects which you should be acquainted with before you start 'growing full time'.

I'm afraid though, as it sounds with your setup - you'll have to go big or go home on this one. You'll probably want triple what you're running to even break the surface on those profits, Seeing as you'll have to live off this now.

Keep your buddies buddies and your partners partners in this business. You hear me? Unless all parties involved have an equal investment in the 'operation' (like each guy contributes 33% to the equipment costs), its not going to work out. Having them as 'partners' can and will stick you in one of those bad nursery tale situations with the hen that makes the loaf of bread all on its own with no help from the others - then when the loaf is done the others all want some of that fresh baked bread they offered no help in making. You'll wind up putting in all the work and all the cost to give a lot of it up to greed if you don't have partners pull weight as partners.

Your best bet is a well dialed in perpetual system with plants regularly moving from veg to flower chamber to keep production up.

Still though, you're going to have all the time in the world and no money after this is all set up and done. A setup like yours won't even take a couple hours of work per day - whats stopping you from getting part time work? Even at 6-8k you can do plenty of part time work without falling behind in the garden.

Im super pumped me and my two buddy's/ business parteners
just signed a lease on a three beadroom apt. owned by his mother boy do we have plans. we cant move everything in for a month or so. But guys i really need your support here ive been working for 50 hours a week for the last two straight years for my current employer and i just gave a 1 month notice. to become a fulltime grower.

im a bit nervous i cant mess this up theres a lot of people counting on me

No offense.. But you can grow and maintain employment... Which would be the smart thing to do... so many many things can go wrong... not to mention you can't count on money for product that is not up to snuff anymore... unless you are in a part of the Country where cannabis is still totally illegal..

I would wait until AFTER I HARVESTED... to give my notice.... that way you will have some idea as to what to expect....

Right now you are running on dreams... which is fine.. but they don't always pay the bills come true or a good ones....

Ive read all the posts and I gotta say they are all positive--this is good you are getting candid advice.

I cant give you any pointers on growing, but I can on business. I started a legit legal business with a partner of mine. We did the whole nine yards--find a place, pay rent, bills, taxes, city bullshit, blah blah.

One partner, who happened to be my best friend. We started fucking SMALL and only put in about 5k a piece of our own cash. We busted our asses setting it up everything was great then something that was said got turned into some idiotic bullshit...long story short I haven't talked to that guy in YEARS.

Even if you HAD 10k and up in lights, BUSINESS is different.

especially the business that YOU are suggesting.

You know I got burned on that legit business thing of mine, and now I understand A LOT. I also know that I despise having to work for someone else and in fact, I dont "work" the majority of the time...then again I dont spend a lot on myself. You are gonna need cash...especially if you got bills to pay and you wanna buy shit for yourself, other people, or your chick. this is a good time to remind you again of the chick factor.

someone mentioned earlier to just grow with your friends and smoke the bud fuck the money. gain experience and have fun.

That is of course if you trust your friends with your balls...unless you got a med card?

If you go into the biz, get a house instead. Get several thousand in wattage so you can grow your dank insed. Then you can grow your FOOD outside,harvest, then eat it, then sell the rest of high grade tarragon, purple purvian potatoes, and colorful lettuces to fancy eateries and at farmers markets to generate more income and to feed yourself, family, and friends like royalty. Do it by yourself and dont tell anyone you grow dank.

otherwise, I wouldnt take your whole grow op seriously unless its dealing with security and johnny law.

You basically double your yields over horizontal with a single yield. I've seen people get over 2gpw growing vertically. It's a cash croppers delight. Or hell, should be anyone's delight! More bud, with the same electric bill!

I checked out that forum and I've been hooked ever since...and I haven't even grown vertically yet! Bet your ass that's what I'm doing next. Check out Heath Robinsons vert grows. He regularly pulls out 1.8-2 vertically. Twice what you strive for horizontally.

sounds like you took all of this advice to heart, and you should, ALL OF IT was sound information mostly based on our personal experiences.

one of the best pieces of advice I ever got was "when your starting off on something new, give yourself time to suck at it"

so PLAN on failure, and prepare for it,...then when you don't fail,.......sweet!,......but if you plan on success, and it fails, well you get the idea.


so give yourself time to suck at this.

this is the closet open the carbon filter is mounted to the door with a 4in 100CFM inline S&P fan


400w HTG supply ballast on top shelf

Two 4 inch holes at the bottom with light traps and and vent filters taped around the bottom of them
there are three mother plants 7 clones at the left in dixie cups and 25 low ryder diesel seedlings two the right.they are also under neath vv

dude I hear you fuck working, I currently work 50 hours a week for a boss that hasnt given me a raise in 3 years. He says what other job can you work and bust your back and walk away with a 100 dollars for 8 hours a work.

But I think the point he was making is that there's hundreds and hundreds of threads where people are seeking an answer that many could give. But no one ever replies. Chances are it's frustrating to have that happen to yourself, and then see another thread run page after page. It's a personal thing...

that is it exactly...I have asked many questions that never got answered, and posted pics of my gorgeous fat buds that got no comments..and I look a few threads down to see what all the exitement is..and everybody is going ga ga over some shitty cfl micro grow with sick plants..
