This is bad. I'm under an old profile cause I don't trust my comp right now. I know there's some really knowledgeable folks here so tell me what to do please. I can't exactly take this thing to the shop after being on IC for a couple years. What are my options here. I've run Advanced System Care Pro, Malwarebytes, IObit360, and Spybot Search and Destroy. I've taken the sheer number down to I'd say around 50 - 200 various nastys. My spyware programs are scanning them but not recognizing them and putting them in quarantine. I've got adware, crapware, spyware, keyloggers, trojans, downloaders, worms all kinda shit.

Here's what I know I have.

rogue/crapware.registry victor
adware/Isearch
rogue/crapware.intelnet
adware/coolwebsearch
3721, spyware/cnsmn
adware/ezula
adware/xupiter
bonzibuddy
darksma a
drivecleaner
expertantivirus
infostealer.bzup
rogue/crapware.errorrepairtool
to-spy-on
trj/startpage.gen
trj/startpage.fh
trojan.win32.startpage.adh
trojandownloader.win32.apropo.b
trojandownloader.win32.bho
trojandownloader.win32.comet
win32.startpage.fz
trojandownloader.win32.swizzor.au

This is just some of the ones I know I have, there's more. I got sick of taking screen caps to figure out the names while scanning. I can't find them anywhere on the comp. I searched the registry and nothing. I don't know what I'm doing either though. I probably shouldn't even be fucking around in there. I don't have a startup disc either. Vista. Apparently free porns not all that free.

my best advice is to nuke your comp. it sucks to lose it all but sometimes its necessary

are you TheJointedOne?

You need to delete your quarantined files. Make sure you disconnect from the internet when running these scans.(unplug your ethernet cord) You can also try Smitfraudfix. And get rid of limewire!! That shit is most likely where you got it from!! Plus limewire is sooooo 1990's
LOL

Steppin I'll shoot you a PM when it's all said and done with.

Ruger, Limewire was the culprit. I'm going to delete what's in quarantine but there's only two in there. There's hundreds hiding somewhere...I'm downloading darik's boot and nuke just in case. Anyone know where to get a free user freindly OS? I don't really do much but photo editing, browsing, and MS works. I need something that I won't have a problem getting drivers for or setting up a dial up connection. Yeah I said the D word.

Ubuntu is good, it's free. You can even order a copy for a few bucks or free if you're really hard-up, but please don't download it over dialup.

Only potential problem is, your modem might possibly not work and so you'd have to buy a new modem, but 1. they're cheap and it's not ubuntu's fault they're proprietary.

You have so many because you got a nasty trojan downloader installed and everytime you make a connection to the internet the sucker is downloading and installing new stuff.

The best way to deal with a computer this infected is to backup personal files such as photos or documents you absolutely need to keep and reformat the computer. Install windows, install hardware drivers, install window updates, install A/V and update. Do that stuff in that order and then try to be careful what you are looking at on the internet and what you click on. Avoid porn, email attachments (even if they are from a friend), and Warez/ free serial key sites.

Microsoft windows is safe to use as long as you are cautious about what you do on the internet.

I'm not sure it will help you any or not, but I just discovered a program called 'ccleaner'.. you can find out more at ccleaner.com

mgk :smokey:

^ same here, been using them forever, only time I had a problem was back when I accidently clicked on an "Antivirus 2k8" popup, but that was solved with Malwarebytes.

IMO RugerBaby is right, use Malwarebytes to take care of the shit on your computer, then uninstall Limewire....that program eats computers.

Find your Windows disk, go into the Bios and set your system to Boot to CD. Do a fresh install. Install your Motherboard Drivers. Update your system from Windows Update.

Once your back up and running, do yourself a favor and purchase a program called Shadow User Pro from StorageCraft.

With Shadow User you dont even have to run an AntiVirus or Spyware program. It creates a duplicate copy of your operating system to work with, and when your done, you just dump the copy and start fresh everytime. It allows you to save any change you made also. Also Shadow Protect is another great program for disk images but it costs a little more.
