Can LED grow good MJ...show me your proof with what lights you use...wattage and what you harvest!

If LED"S are so good, where's the proof?

They cost way more so the manufacture's claim they are way better...have you used LEDs? How have they worked out and have they lived up to expectations?

Show us and I'll try to find some on this site as well and post it here.

LED seems to produce decent buds in a few grows for guys who really know what their doing. But getting 2+ lbs to a single light comparable to a 1000w hps is just hopes and dreams for the led people.

I happened to meet a guy who owns a chain of grow shops recently. We had a long discussion regarding LED's vs HID's. He told me that he has done the work, and found LEDs inadequate for anything other than vegging, sidelighting and mothering plants.
Go figure.

While the OP came off a little trollish, but it's a fair discussion. I hope the fact that some here sell LEDs won't bias the discussion. I have nothing to add other then I am interested in anything that will improve my grow.

But improvement is also subjective, different dose not mean better.

Fun pointless discussion unless there is enough data, probably done at the university level.

Well i agree this is a valid topic all the forums see to be very invested with moderators and vendors on LEDS and they delete what they want and keep what they like. I myself was gonna buy 2 126w leds from hyrdo-grow and declined after seeing i would get a max yeild of 250-300 g's . thats about a gpw but i already get 1gpw under my 400 hps/ Mh setup but i also veg for a long time so my yields are expected to be larger. You cant even compare 2 126 leds to a 400w hps let alone put them up against a 600w hps/mh setup .

I am not trying to be negative in fact i would love to convert to leds for the lower electrical costs and less heat etc.. However i wanna see them OUT YIELD a non biased review that i am yet to see on these forums

I think we'd all like to run LED's if they produced. No heat and less electricity with equal amount of buds. This is a no brainer. For now, its not happening.

I have a couple friends who are in that line of work and I have yet to see any of the distributors in the hydro industry get behind it....maybe a few retailers will sell the things but thats only cause people are easily spoonfed hype and they are eager to pay for unfounded products. if it takes someone to talk alot about it to hype it up it's typically no good.

best buds I've ever smoked 'spoke for them selves' not heavily hyped strains.

When you start hearing the community rant and rave about how good their success is you can count on it being a good product.

You also forget they cost almost twice the price as a HID setup if you need 2 126 w leds at $ 475 each you can do the math , it doesnt add up in my book , i have a 90 ufo led quad band im trying out for cuts but its already yellowing some leaves on some of the girls

No you may not say it, but LEDgirl who is selling these lights claimed that Genetics' grow was a valid and accurate testimony to the quality of her product. She used his grow specifically to sell the idea that her LEDs out produced a 600 HPS by 10% in weight.

When I pointed out the inaccuracy in her statement she heavily edited my post to get rid of the link to genetics' thread itself and the observations that genetics' grow was a bad example. I will not be taking part in any thread inside that forum out of respect to Gypsy, the mods and the rest of the forum to help maintain the peace.

Now I am not behind this thread. I don't have two accounts and frankly I really don't care if people buy LEDS. Go for it, every dime she makes keeps her paying the bills here at ICMAG which I do enjoy very much.

I am waiting for some real good comparison grows that are done by some of the best growers this forum has to offer. Documentation and consistency is key for comparing these products. I will remain open minded about the lights themselves, but the people selling them is another story.

I'm sure they have their place in some peoples setups. College kids growing in their dorm rooms or apartments trying to keep it ultra stealth while growing a little bit for their own personal use. For the majority of us it just doesnt seem like the best option.

Instead of trying to find a comparison with LED and HPS or MH I would be more interested to see if the LED's can out produce a good flouro setup. Flouros seem more on their level.

Gypsy doesn't really need to say a word or spend a buck to advertise his seedbank.
