Thanks man! its a 31 gallon tub I run it with 15-20 gals of water. The valve is half inch and its prolly the main thing I would change because it does take a while to drain, I havent drained my tub yet but when I did mock up run and drain it too like 30-45 mins, it needs to be bigger. They had a bigger valve at my hydro shop but it was too hard to turn and I thought it would flex my bucket too much opening and closing it. I will eventually change the drain though. Thanks for asking and looking. I am a rookie hydro person totally first timer and so far its been cool.

Nice work mate, very well done taking into account you don't consider yourself a mechanical/build it yourself type. I laugh when I see shops charging $700.00 for something I could put together for $70 and I, like yourself aren't all that good at figuring out/building things. Only thing to be careful of is running several different strains in one of those as nutrient needs differ, I even had problems growing the same strain from seed as some phenos were sucking up everything I gave them whilst others were suffering a lil burn and leaf curling. Overall though you have yourself a piece of kit that will give growth rates that would put a lot of store bought systems to shame. All depends on the DO levels and getting the water temps right so that you can maximize the DO... nice work...

I'm think when your plants put on some weight they are going to pop those net pots right through their holes. I've had this happen to me before using 5gal bucket lids at 6 weeks flower! Now that's a headache!
Looks good ,couple things though
once the roots hit the res you dont need the drippers,you'll be runnung a dwc.Also a pump in the res is going to bring temps up.Now the level of the res should be 1-2 inches below pots(air gap).With 5 inch net pots in 18 gallon totes I use 12 gallons,that means you should have 25-27 gallons of water .Thats scary ,if that tote blows 27 gallons of water will do some damage.As far as the drain plug I had a bad exp. with one use a pump.
I personally would get the black and yellow heavy duty tote from HD or double up what you have as well as sit in a plastic morter tub.There still small so roots wont be an issue with a small move.
I'm not trying to bust ur balls just trying to help out .Like I was told "good way to get your feet wet"
BTW dont worry to much on pots falling threw .They usaually fall over first

What kind of seeds are they? Are you just starting them in that? If they are not all females seeds, it is not a good idea to run them in the same container....could run into trouble down the line weeding out the males. Roots will tangle, best to do clones in the same container, not from seed plants because you will have to remove males. Good luck and lightproof your lids atleast, use Foil Tape it is the best. The lids on rubbermaid are not rigid enough, you should plan to deal with that, it will sag and bow. If the net pots try to fall through, those net pots flex, take some scraps of air hose, cut a slit and use them to line the lid holes and provide more support for the net pots, if it becomes a problem.

Does this system spray the roots? Not too sure from the looks of the setup.
