How can I safely seal an air cooled hood??

I recently obtained an air cooled supernova - on getting home I realised that one of the four sides that contact the glass doesn't have a seal =(

The other three sides have a foam rubber strip that will seal against the glass, but I haven't been able to find any similar stuff. I imagine that it should be heat proof to avoid any risk of fire, but the only stuff i've seen is ordinary stick on weatherseal. My worry about using this is that it is much less dense than the strip used on the other sides, and has a layer of plastic on the surface that looks like it would melt/burn..........

My question that I hope somebody can answer is, does anyone know what I can use to seal it?????

I have some all purpose interior sealant that is " Paintable, water resistant and flexible". says nothing about heat resistant though.

Thanks,

You shouldn't depend on the factory foam seal.

I seal my CAP Lumecools and Sunlight Supply SS2's with Scotch tape. It works great. Easy on, easy off too.

They sell that foam stuff at hardware stores, pretty much any hardware stores. It's just foam weather striping, and it varies by width, height, and compression. You should be able to find something almost identical to what they supplied, or else just get enough to redo all the sides . . . that stuff can handle pretty high temps.

Otherwise they sell high heat metallic tape at hardware stores . . . but if you're cooling the hood it shouldn't get too hot and most any kind of tape should do.

FlexFix HVAC tape, very sticky, its like mylar but transparent(dont foil tape) its purposly made for when applied it makes an air tight bond for repairing ducts

metal duct tape works great for this, and it comes off cleaner than most tapes and is heat resistant.
