HYDROPONICS
How long has this problem been going on? 6 days
Are you growing in a PVC grow tent? (example: Hydrohut or any other non brand tents) No
What system are you running? (DWC? Ebb flow? Aero? Water Farm? Flood Tables? and so on...) Hydroton tables/top feed
What STRAIN are you growing? Orange Kush
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?) Clone
What is the age of your plants? 60 days
How long have they been in there mixture they are in now?(coco, soiless etc..) 50 days
How tall are the plants? 20"
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Vegetative
What Technique are you using? SCROG
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.) Hydroton
What is the Water temperature? 68-73F
What color are your roots? White? Brown? Are your roots slimy?
What Nutrient's are you using?(If growing soiless) Supernatural Gro Aqua, Hygrozyme
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* Currently Supernatural Gro Aqua@550ppm and Hygrozyme@8ml/L
How often are you feeding? (If using soiless) 3x/24hr lights on only
How often are you giving nutrients? (If using soiless)
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? 6 of 7 days (on day 7 I follow leach recommendation with Supernatural Super Leach as described on container followed by fresh RO pHd water remainder of daily feeds)
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) I add Supernatural Gro Aqua into RO water until I see 550 ppm (stir well), add Hygrozyme at 8ml/4L, then adjust pH to 5.6.-5.9. I check and adjust pH daily to these levels. I usually drain res after day 3 and give one flush with RO pHd water and then fill res again with RO water, add nute blend and then check and balance pH of solution.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using? between 550 and 650ppm
What is the pH of the "Tank"? I adjust to 5.6-5.9 daily. Usually I see a rise in pH from day to day so I use a pH Down solution (Mad Farmer brand produced by local hydro store guys).
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?Yes. I purchased new calibration solutions 4 days ago and recalibrated the meter. Meter works off two point calibration.
When was your last watering? Today
What is your water temps? 72F
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional) 2 days
How often do you clean your system: example: Flush out water replace with clean water and nutrients? 3 days
What size bulb are you using? 1000w
What is the distance to the canopy? 20"
What is your RH Factor(Relative Humidity)? 45-60%
What is the canopy temperature? 85F at hottest
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range) 85 day / 72 night
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) Exhaust 465 cfm / Intake Passive (door open) / Oscillating fans over canopy / Portable AC (cycles on/off as needed to keep temps below 85F)
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? Exhaust fan runs 24/7 / Intake is passive (open door) / AC cycles on when temps run 85F
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? At canopy height
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Soft
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? RO (5-10ppm)
Are you using water from a water softener? No
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched? 14 days ago
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? No
Are plant's infected with pest's? No

Let me know what you guys think. These plants were just moved from veg room into bloom room 6 days ago. Containers are literally carried from point a to point b so no need to transplant. Same nutrients are being applied as were in veg room. Only real difference is HPS lighting now vs. flouro lighting in veg room. I haven't seen problems like this before with this particular variety. I'm concerned container size has something to do with it because these plants are bigger that what I normally start with in bloom. There are 2 plants per container and the containers are nearly 5 gallons.

pH fluctuation and your flooding your plants too often.

pH will rise when plants remove nutrients from the water..... how long are you watering them for when you do?

Is your system like an ebb n flow flood table?
Your plants look like possible too much water too.....
when your plants remove nutrients you want to keep a steady flow, but not exceed your ppm usage, this is where pH down comes into play...... if you use to much pH down it messes the system up.

What is the pH before you use pH down and what is the ppm's before and after using pH down?

the twisting at the top and the slight leaf curl inwards is from your light, it's getting too much dry air in that area, when was the last time you raised your light? light problem is just starting. when a problem happens on the tops of the plant it's got to do with micronutrient related problems, lighting and so forth.

I don't see a micronutrient related problem with the pics you are showing.

When you introduce high wattage lighting from fluros your plants need time to adjust tot he lighting difference and the curling is most definatly related to the introducing of the light, raise the lighting for now and when they get used to it lower it as close as you can get without causing curling or light bleaching.

Also when you introduce plants to high amount of light from not a lot of light; your plants will droop and since the top part of the plant is closest you will see this effect a lot.

I am sure you got nute burn with the way you feed every time like that, that is too often for it it seems.
Those leaves are showing signs of pH swings; which means you have a high amount of nutrients available to the plant, that is a lot of food to use everyday.....

A good flush it seems that it is in need.
I would defiantly test the pH and wait on the flush til you get your meter..... you got more pictures of the plants besides the leaf?

I can give ya a more solid diagnosis and tell you if for sure it's nute burn... I am sure you got a pH problem, spotting effects like that only happen when the plant is in an unstable pH.

It sounds to me that you are also increasing the amount of P and K, because B has both already and when you mix the pk 13/14 you are using too much, especially using that everyday with the dosage you are using.....

have you tested tap EC?
when you let water sit it evaporates chlorine only.... is this what you were referring to?

I also need to know what your tap water EC is at?

Cattle, I can't tell well with those pictures, because they are so blurry or way too small.

Iwill say splotches like that mean there is a pH problem going on, not to mention it looks like you are burning the heck out of them with that feeding regimen you have them on.

Why are you feeding them that much?
How often are you giving them this much food?
How often do you check your pH?

I will get you better pictures...

I was advised to mix my nutes accordingly....1000ppm of floramicro then add 400ppm of florablossom to have a total of 1400ppm with a ph of 5.6-6.0. I mix my nutes by a five gallon jug and use that water to water with when they need watering...I check my ph before watering and the overflow...its always the same. usually around 5.7.
The spots only started the past few days and I've been watering this way since week one with much less nutes of course. As the plants grow my advisor tells me when to up my nutes.
Should I be watering with plain water and only nutes in between? I;m so confused. All my plants are about 2-2 1/2feet tall. They are 5 weeks 3 days old....
Should I lift the light?
I personally have no patients for stupidity so please forgive me and thank you for your time!!!

Hello. Thank You for interesting; still waiting for ph meter so then i make more pics with beter quality... Ec of my water is 0.8 its hard water, I takes water from kitchen and let that water wait 24h before mixing the nutrients.

I also notice my lamp is too close my bud. The buds hair on top of them start to changing colour (3-4 week of flowering) to yellow-not the brown. so i put the lamp up and the plants starts looking better, but iam also sure i got ph problem cuz leaves is not so vigours colour , that green colour is not so green...

You also right with nutrients i add coco A/B every time but try to dose small amount, not even 100% of them and PK boost ill added just few times and now dont adding.

Thank You for help. Will inform You when got that ph meter.
PS sorry for my english. Peace!

Yes, you should always use plain water in between or use nutes 2 times and 3rd time just lots of plain water, this helps remove left over's the plant did not use.

I would only adjust your nutes slowly, never in big increments; this way if your plant is still hungry you can add a little more; where if you add too much, the work of doing flushing your plants out is not fun.....

+ it also rinses out the nutes that was already in the soil, so your soil runs down on nutes much faster.

I would only go with nutes directions on feeding if they were made for cannabis.
Most companies have a crazy feeding regimen and most of the time it burns them, if not right away; down the road when high doses are constantly giving to the plant.

I would have to wait and see good pictures of your plants before I can tell you to raise your light......

It all depends on each strain how much light/heat intensity it can take, a lot of plants can take that distance, but if your plants don't like it you have to move it up if you can.....

Otherwise you stress your plant and slow it's growth of height down a bit.

Hello again... I just checked ph of my canna A/B, 2h after mixing -and PH is 6.5. I read a lot about run-off check, so i made it, my runoff PH is 6.6 (?!?) my tap water is ph 7.1
what now i should check ? still just watering tap water...

I dunno now what happend to my young plants ;

is this could be a chlorine in water that i used to humidifier ? i forgot buy water from shop to that humidifier... mix is just coco A/B - 4ml/ 1.5 L
Light is 2x 55w 6000k, everything else is like old plants(coco and the same room)
thanks for help. regards.

You need to lower your pH, your tap water is causing your pH to rise... you need to use pH down

Those pictures you are showing above is a zinc problem this is very rare and have only seen about 6 cases of this.

Your pH is locking out nutrients.
Do you have pH down?

Try keeping your pH at 6.0
You may need to use a different form of water if you can't get your tap water pH to lower with pH down.

stitch - just curious. why would tap water not respond with ph down?

stitch - just curious. why would tap water not respond with ph down?

It depends, the higher pH your tap is, chances are it's hard water

lower pH water means it's pure or in between depending on the pH

anything that is over 250 ppm is hard water and is not good to use for hydro.

As for the pH down, when you have hard water you have to use a lot of pH down to try to balance it out, once nutes and pH down are removed the pH goes up and it becomes unstable with too much of a pH swing; depending on what setup you are using.... hydro/soiless/coco aero

soil mixture you don't need to get that low and you would not need as much pH down if you got hard water. Because if your using soil; whati s in the soil makes a difference in pH from water/soil mix

You can use pH down with tap, but for it to work properly it can't be hard water.... the harder the water the more pH down you must use once it's absorbed with the plants the pH goes up quickly.

this is why most people use RO water and what not, because you have nearly total control what is going into your plants, same goes for soiless mediums.

not to mention too hard of tap water can cause problems with plants absorbing nutrients.
