Mineral Water?

Is mineral water good to use if your a purist that can spare the extra change?

The PH of the water i bought is 6 (at source) and has the usual traces of Ca, Mg, K etc...

I can get 5 litres of mineral water for 98p which i think is okay, only a couple extra quid per week as im only growing one plant

Appreciate any advice...

I'm on the mineral water...Using Buxton. Where are you getting 5 litres for 98p? I'm getting Buxton from Lidl on offer at 29p per 2l but it will go up soon. The Buxton has a higher ph of 7.4. What brand are you buyin?

I prefer bottled water as i ain't got room to leave buckets of water for 24hrs for the chlorine to dissipate and the tap water has a ph of 8.4. Tap water is hard as nails in my area

I buy this stuff too. My tap water is so chlorinated that you can smell it while taking a shower. This has worked fine for me for years.

Whatup rudedog, where the dweebs at?

I get mine from tescos, from some scottish spring i think, you get a huge 5ltr bottle for 98p
The sodium level is much lower than evian or buxton, its 6mg/ltr if i remember right...i think sodium is the one to worry about as the residue could cause salt build up in the soil, but im not sure about that.

I haven't shopped about to be honest, that buxton sounds like a very good deal, stock up maybe? I

I just suddenly realized that using tapwater is not good, even after the brita filter, im into spirituality so i really want only the purest produce to go in or near my plant. Even if your into molecular science you'd understand that bad water can cause unseen nasties.

Inbox, i got the same thing, my tap water STINKS, do you mean you've been getting the same 98p stuff from tescos?
Good to know if you've been using it for years with no problems...

Cheers for starin this thread...I'll be switchin to the same brand as you. Buxton is 27.4mg of sodium per litre. I've looked at a few brands of bottled water today. There was one in Lidl @ 146mg per litre and another @ 68 mg per litre. Co-op own is 31.4.

First time growing for a few years and first organic grow. I thought i'd use bottled as i didn't want to poison the microbes with shite council pop.

Cool, what organic setup you got?

I've done my first grow, only one plant & went with the biocanna range & added guanokalong liquid bat guano & hygrozyme, it all worked beautifully ;)

Was silly of me to start using the tap water really, after its been britafiltered it doesnt smell anymore, but i still don't trust it

ps the sodium level in the 5ltr tesco bottle is 9.0, mg/ltr
after each measurement they have a comma though like 9.0, not sure if that means anything :dunno:
total dry residue at 180c is 80mg, much less than evian or buxton

I'm in soil that i mixed myself. Running CFLs, 125w veg & 300w flower. 6 plants...4 Sensi Star & 2 bag seed. Just repotted them and will veg for another 10 days before flower. Hoping to get 3 females. I'll probably invest in some new seed once i got everything stable, had a few problems to begin with.

I got myself some of the Tesco own water last night. Used it just when repotting. Can be used straight from the bottle with a ph of 6.2. Just added the molasses and watered. Spot on.

I have never had any problems using nothing but mineral water, but I can't tell you anything about brands, for I am lucky enough to have a spring gravity fed to my tap, so free mineral water!
