pistils turning red @ 5 weeks?

i'm surprised to see so many people say it's from being pollinated, especially when you say red rather than pink . . .

I've had this happen pretty much every time with at least one plant, indoors and out, and it was never pollen. Some of my friends think it has to do with temp or pH, but i don't really know. I've seen everything from very light red pistils to neon pink and purple, and it was never pollen . . .

So i'd say it could be a number of things . . .

For starters are you in soil? What strain? how old are the plants? From seed or clone? How long did you veg? What size containers are they in?
