you must act fast, as they are actively trying to destroy your roots and dissease your leaf tissue. thrips are common so heres a list of stuff you can do.
1. dry it out(main cause is an over moist enviroment) make it unhospitable.
2. soil drench with bacillis subtillis , gnatroll, ect.
3. soil scratch of diotomacious earth.
4. soil drench with benneficial nemetodes (use twice as many as the guy at the hydro
store recomends and do it every week for three weeks.)
5. benneficials , green lacewings, destroyers, ladybug lions(larvae not adults)
6. yellow and blue sticky traps (kinda a must have and non toxic)
7. pyrethrium spray concentrate or powder , bug strips , safer brand soap(this is a last resort thing)
and id use at least two of the above techniques, but never mix benneficials with poison, it will kill them too! the homemade teas above are a good preventitive , but they will not kill or control an active thrip population. once established you must attack both at the leaf and soil level to really have any effect at all.thrips are hard to get rid of, but can be controlled well untill the next soil change. regardless do not reuse that soil, dump it and start thrip free next time.
and keep letting it dry out.hope that helps.
