How much different life would be if weed was legal

it woulden't be half the fun if it was legal, and im sure the corporate world would find many ways to fuck it all up.

it would put some prisons out of commission, put cops and correctional employees out of work.

...and make all of us come out of hiding.

im sure they constantly weigh the value of keeping cannabis legal vs. illegal....and it prolly is more valuable to them to keep us where we are.

if cannabis were legal, then you could build yourself a real nice greenhouse, and assure no pollen contamination, because it is not good either for breeding or if what u want is sinsemilla.
a lovely glass green house, with automated vents and what not... it would kick ass let me tell you.

It wouldn't be nearly as popular, methinks. It is sought after because of its rarity. I doubt very much I would have grown or learned anything at all of the plant if I could have purchased it at a drug store to begin with.

if turned over to the free market. Marijuana would become better and cost less. It would also drive the price of competing materials down like cotton and oil based products. They would now have to compete with a new material. The paper industry would change. The fact is laissez faire ( Freemarket economics) is a very new idea being only about 300 years old. The idea is that people are free to chose what they do with their property (money) and then must live up to the consequences whats ever they may be.

Because their would be no government in the way people would be given all the choices with no hidden tax or prohibition imposed on only one or more industries. They would get the best product for their needs and have more money to stimulate other parts of the economy.

Some one needs to read economics in one lesson. Good book.

I would only want to see it legal under certain circumstances, those being the right for me to be able to grow a certain amount indoors and pay a yearly tax for the right to do so.Amounts and such can be worked out.The last thing I'd want to see is a gov't run "reefer mart" where growing your own is still illegal.I'd rather have it stay the way it is than have that happen.

I am with you on having the government stay out of it but why do you want to pay a tax on it? No amounts need to be worked out. It has nothing to do with any one but you and your plants. I hate it when people say "why won't the government just legalize it and collect taxes and regulate it." Ya!!! Legalize it and then stay the F**k out of my life. No more taxes No more spending No more BS laws.

If weed was legal, big business could get away with so much more. My job is taking advantage of this recession, no raises, low pay, etc, and they know they can get away with it. If I had access to unlimited weed. I really wouldn't care. Being able to grow and consume unlimited weed would make alot of my problems today seem like nothing.

Big business is making money now - grow stores where picking the low-hanging fruit that shuffles through their front doors makes for huge profits.

I for one, wouldn't agree on LEGALIZING,i would agree on DECRIMINALIZING it.Why?As mentioned above, the corporate world will fuck it up,as they do with everything. And as we all know that the so called "drug world" is one of the highest earning things out there. They would be howling like hungry wolverines to get a contract with growers and monopolize the market.Honestly,it not being legal is more fun,and a lot better, your doing something illegal and your getting away with it(most of the time),but dont get me wrong..i understand this is a frustration to most people who are tired of hiding and always having a small to medium percentage of paranoia in them everytime they leave the house/property or when they put their heads on the pillow.

But to let the corporate world and the high earning companies in the world fuck something up like my much loved weed,I SAY NO.

Lots of people above me posting had lots of fine points.

Think of all the fucked up,brainwashed people would do if they would legalize the shit,Weed isn't for everybody you know, some people just can't handle it.I'd see chaos everywhere, like in the movie where that Wilson guy goes in to the future and comes to find IDIOCRACY(the movie).I'd prefer having this psychological wall on the majority of people(i know its selfish) so they wouldn't touch the thing. We have enough problems as it is,having the streets full of stoners and people going into involution cause of the drug isn't the best thing out there.

So,keep it illegal,decriminalize it if you want,but don't legalize!!!

P.S I' m sorry if i offended somebody with my prespective, its just how it would see things.

But regarding to what i would do if it were legal,

I'd open up a laboratory, and grow medicinal herb, and do reserach goddammnit so i can actually help people with their illnesses.

What would pot smokers bitch about once it's legal though, that's what I'm wondering. I mean, you have a bunch of people and entire communities built up around the activity; you don't see any kind of solidarity like it with alcohol. Will the communities dissolve? They'll definitely become smaller over time. That's the aspect of legalization I'm curious about. Don't think it will make a gigantic change, but some of it will be awesome. I'd far rather go out and get high at a hash bar than go out clubbing / drinking.

I would love to see that, but that's just not the reality of the free market. Any movement towards decriminalization will eventually turn into legalization and government control. It just happens that way.

That will another war, but at least in this war we can be armed with lawyers and law instead of prison's and gangsters.

Change of this social magnitude is always scary. I have no idea what's really going to happen, but whatever it is will be better than the current prohibition conditions we live under now.

As far as what's going to happen when it's legal. Large scale warehouse style growing (35K/200amp pole) in the middle of nowhere. ftw
