Jack Herer needs our help....

I am sure most everyone here knows who I am talking about....A few years ago, while at HempFest just north of Eugene, Jack suffered a major stroke, which left him to learn the basic things all over again, like speaking....

Since then, once again, backstage on Sept. 12 at Hempstalk 2009 in Portland, Jack collapsed after having a heart attack (for more detailed article, follow the link)

Problem is now, he can't go home to the care of his loving wife until he gets a special bed, which isn't cheap by any shades of the definition, so we've started a "BED DRIVE" at our Oregon based MMJ website, and I've decided to bring that drive to all the other international sites I work at or visit on a regular basis because I have a hunch a lot of good people out here have NO IDEA this has happened, and would love to help!!!

I will add a link on this thread, where you all can go visit and send donations if you'd like to help a good man get a bed, and most importantly, HOME so he can get better...

I'll be happy to stay on topic, Doobieduck, but it insults me personally and offends me tremendously to have anyone mention George Soros in the same sentence as Jack Herer. Jack is a good friend of mine and I hate George Soros. I can't sit by and say nothing about it.

You can hate anyone you want....no problem there, BUT, this thread really isn't about anyone but Jack, who you support, if someone mentions something your not fond of, that NOT on topic, be the bigger HUMAN on this thread, keep focused on what this is about, and carry on....IF it moves you to uncontrollable levels, them PM the person who's bothered you with your personal views, and carry on!!!

I didn't start this thread, for anyone to voice their disgruntals with another......so lets keep it that way, PLEASE!!!

Thanks for clarifying that point Sportz...good job.

Jack is a personal friend, I have spent a lot of time with him over the last couple years...appearing regularly on his TV show reading the news. He has helped so many many people in his life that it is now very important that we turn this around and show support to Jack, and his LOVELY wife Jeannie...she is WONDERFUL and stands by her man thru thick and thin.

I'll never forget meeting him a year ago at a Sacramento Club.
I was immediately struck by his humility and sincerity, two things we all know are often lacking in our community

I used to hang out with all the time. We lived across the street from each other in Van Nuys back in the late 90's. I first started working with Jack in 1991.

When I first started collecting signatures with Jack as a volunteer, and Jack saw my enthusiasm, he helped me out like a father. I was taking the bus to Hollywood with a table and backpack stuffed with petitions and pens and voter registration cards. Jack stepped up and bought me a car so I could travel to Hollywood with ease instead of taking the bus. It was a $1000 car that Jack laid out money from his pocket to buy me so I could be more active in the movement. I found this to be very generous and I knew Jacks heart was in the right place so I dedicated my next 8 years or so to helping him.

Jack is the kind of person who never tires of spreading information about Hemp and the benefits of cannabis. At every moment in Jack's life, he praises the sacred herb and it's medicinal, and industrial uses. There is not a single thing in this world that interested Jack, to the point where he would actually spend his time doing it, other than spreading the word of Hemp and cannabis. He would not take vacations. He would not take a rest. The only time he slept practically was after running out of steam talking and vocalizing himself and his ideas about Hemp. He would fall asleep on the couch, not the bed. Then wake up and keep talking about Hemp and cannabis, non-stop.

Every moment of Jack's life is spent teaching and working to spread the word. Whether at an event or rally, or Grateful Dead show or Hemp rally or Federal Building protest, Jack was always "ON" and pushing hard with a serious passion like I have never seen in any individual. Jack Herer proved to me something that I never would have imagined in my entire life. That one single person, passionately driven, and deeply committed in their hearts, can change the world all by themselves. The book "Emperor Wears No Clothes" accomplished that status for Jack, along with his tireless efforts to educate people.

Jack is a peaceful person, who hates and hates with all his soul and being, the evils in the world that plague mankind and hinder consciousness. Jack's mind is brilliant and his heart is huge. To hear Jack go on about how much he can't stand the injustice in the world regarding marijuana laws and drug laws in general, and how much he understood the mentality of the authorities and their ignorance of humanity and all things good in the world, Jack's speeches and words evoked feelings within a person to want to act and feel empowered to do so.

I could relate very well with Jack. We are both Jewish and both self-taught in politics. I admire Jack's mind and heart and I can still hear his voice in my mind when someone would bring up the word "Jesus" and he would go on about John Allegro and the Sacred Mushroom and the Cross". Jack would talk about how this was his most important knowledge and how this knowledge would change the world. He would praise Jay Lynn and his linguistic ideas, too. Jack is one of the most well read and well educated people I have ever known.

I would urge everyone out there who cares about Cannabis and who cares about where we are today and what direction we are headed, to take a moment and look back into the last few years of history and take a good look at what Jack has done to help us all, and to remember that and help him out if possible.

Remember this fact. If it were not for Jack Herer, Medical Marijuana would not have been passed in 1996, and not a person in this country would know what the hell Hemp was. The fact that you might be wearing Hemp today, is directly due to Jack Herer and his efforts and education.
