The simplest answer is usually the right one..and the simplest answer is less people.

Because all the other options are not viable. We will see commodity prices jump up in the medium term. In the long term we will start seeing significant loss in oil production capability. And that will be the end of cheap food. Forget about future generations. Half the people today will not be able to afford food if oil really goes up for a sustained period..

It is simply the biological boom and bust cycle. When a population has abundant food it's numbers will rise. In nature this happens all the time. When food becomes scarce the pupulation retraces. Like our economic boom and bust cycle we do in reality have the power to control it. The way is see it. It's much more comfortable to remain animals than to actually use our rational mind. So i see no reason why our faith would be any different from the animals.

BTW bugs are a really good source of protein. People grow and eat bugs all over the place in Asia..Here's a good article http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/04/0416_040416_eatingcicadas.html

Whatever it is worth we have passed the point of organic sustainability already. We ARE dependent on synthetic fertilizers to feed us and the world. Synthetic fertilizers are made from oil (petro-chemical based). When we have any significant disruption in the oil supply (i.e running out/peak oil, lose any of the key refineries or pipelines etc.) and we will see a major disruption in food production and distribution. The long term answer to sustainability is stay organic and keep it local. Read The Long Emergency by Howard Kunsler. This sh!t is scary and it is real.

the pope told them not to use condoms, it is not their fault.

the irony, LOL!

all people will find a way to rationalize their way out of responsibility. be it religion, upbringing, environment or "not having other choices". A conscious mind that decides not to use rational thought, but rather to be a norm following asshole because its just that much easier to handle life.

ahhh so you reveal yourself.your previous posts make perfect sense now. first the vaccines than the global warming. now the topic of sustainability. nwo WILL fail.:artist:.

Soylent Green is People, Moses told me that. Why not recycle us,we are just meatbags anyways!

500 million is the quazi accepted number that the earth can sustain alone.

EDIT: My conspiract theory :)

Goverment gets SUCKERS to inject themselfs with needless vaccines 2-3x's while contaminated with high levels of some sort of poison, activated by a final vaccine. Government blames the "viral crisis" on millions of death when in fact the government activated the poison themselves. How else are they going to get rid of BILLIONS of people. Of course we will see the poorest countries affected first as a "test". :)

Some Studies on Growing Food in the usa has improved with better techniques...In the 1950,one acre would feed 12 families, now its 120 Families fed per acre.

Better fertilizers, improved seed breeding, pest resistance crops.

Yea...it's all in the growers so buy U.S.A food mannnnnnn. If U.S.A start to export more food out of U.S.A then farmers can make money and not rely on government subsidies.

At least Growers can grow their own food with their own HPS lights and have a jump on the population just by learning weed growing.

All populations when speaking about any of the species on this planet will hit a peak and level off. I think we'll peak before we hit 9 billion. Some will die from famine, droughts or disease, more from other humans killing them while fighting for the limited resources.
