Oh, I see, it's a toothpick... I thought it was a leaf stem sticking through the main stem, at first.

Toothpick... better than a nail.

Do you think this helps the yield on that branch somehow?

unthing

This is a new one, I've heard about hitting nail in the main stalk during last days of bloom as a shock treatment to make the plant pump more resin. It might work, but personally that goes for the growing plants upside down-school on growing.

What you're doing looks like extreme form of stem breaking/repairing.

You can notice a sizable difference in the main stem @ each pick entry.
I happend across an article from an Indian grower in a book many years ago. Ive only recently decided to try this method.:artist:

No breakage/repair, my friend...This was supposedly practiced in some earlier cannabis cultures in India many many years ago.

IT A TEST for me.........what can I say I got bored....:dance013:

That's a cool technique

Where did you read about this??

In a book Id found in Europe about 20 years ago---It was the smallest book Id ever seen, about 3x4. I cant remember the title, something like "Ancient Cannabis Cultivation Techniques of India".

Not sure where it went---Ive got two kids (now grown). I'm thinking somebody walked with it. "rat bastards":booked:

Looking good Bazarocka.

Mel frank has had the nail in the stem in his book since 1978. But that was written to be used in the last couple weeks to increase potency/speed finish.

This seems more like super cropping. Damaging the stem so much it must repair itself. Doing so it creates a super 4 lane highway where a 2 lane road used to be. Usually creating a noticeably bigger bud than its undamaged sister.

Looking forward to seeing the results of this as well. :watchplant:

Cool idea!
What part in the plants life was the tooth pick inserted?
Did you notice any adjustment period with stunted growth or anything like that?

I wish I had a better camera,,(I have 3, and their ALL shit).......I was really Lucky, when I took that pic.

I took Nirvanas Bubblelicious, veged her about 4 weeks. (Making sure the stalk was big enough) Put her in bloom. And inserted the toothpicks into main stalk ..

No real noticeable stunt in growth. However (a major) noticeable difference in main stalk circumference, above each pick insertion, which I'm hoping will make some difference in bud size/output.

These girls are due around the 11th of February....I WILL ATTEMPT, to get some better shots, as they progress.
(I only experimented with three girls out of 30)
