Mendo Purps.....Whats your opinion?

So far im not impressed. It does grow extremely bushy but seems to be a bit slow moving. Another thing is its a total wuss when it comes to nutes. Light feedings 2 days in a row even burn the tips a little. I did a search and read about another guy having issues with having to feed very lightly.

I just hope things start to speed up and look better once I go to flower. I got a feeling this will be my last run with it.

Honestly...it looks great, it smells great, and it couldn't get a cat high. Very weak potency.

Thats not what I wanted to hear. I was going to let these veg for another 10 days or so but I might just throw them into flower now to make room for something else. I had a buddy pick me up some clones and this is what he brought. Waiting for my Mob Boss seeds to get in...

I feel like I wasted a lot of time now.

Yeah, I think there is more than one cut being called purps, some not so great but the one my bro grew was pretty strong. It was a great fast vegger too which was a surprise after seeing how slow Erkle is. This shit is stoney. Mostly the grapey taste is what people like about it. Not the best I ever had but some high quality smoke anyway and quite tastey. Its gone from his garden now as it doesnt really warrant the space when so many others are available here. This cut came from Oakland last year. If you have this cut, you should be very happy with the results.

I feel it's a tasty, pretty, boring strain. I still have some GDP from a half-ounce I bought about a year ago. It's a chore to smoke it.

Well I just flipped a relatively bushy mendo purps into my flowering room, so I'll see what is does this run with all the upgrades that we're done lately. I really don't have room for bad proformaers, unless they really meet a specific medical need that none of my other strains I grow can address. If anything, before I totally get it out of my garden I might pollinate it with something else and pop those beans and see what else comes up.

Hey..i have some of "The Purps" i got from bcbuddepot.This strain won 3rd place for best sativa 2 years in a row. The video is in high times......can it be the same strain???...well i will let you know in october...unless i get ripped off.............

I've found the high to be too mellow for me and the yield and vigor are also sub-par. I think it is one of those strains that look and smell great, no more.

Did all you guys but your seeds from bcbuddepot, or did you trust your corner street vendor....i 'm pretty sure we don't have the same strain...mine are just "The Purps..."...and how can a 3rd place sativa strain winner be crap dirtweed...????? I think Smoke Buddy had the right strain...everyone else got ripped off....and if it does suck i still have OG Kush and Iranian G-13 going...........successful growing to all..

I got my clone from a collective that gets them from mendo, the real deal. Maybe some breeders have improved them IDK.

Mendo purps is a clone only strain...different than GDP, Urkle, Grape Ape and the other stuff people call "purps." I'm not sure if BCBD used the mendo purps to make it.

The clone however is exactly how people have said, taste is bomb, potency not so much, but also not totally bunk. A chore to smoke? No way. I don't know anyone thats kept it around more than a few runs.

More potent crosses with the mendo taste would be nice, I have some s1's I'm trying outside this summer, maybe I can find a plant like that.
