Depends on where you live, cops over here dont bother you unless your being really obvious or somebodys informed on you.
And this is the exact attitude that makes the push for legalization that much harder. The people who uphold the laws are directly linked to the people who make the laws. That shows what kind of character they have. Cops get direct funding from the legislation. The people that become cops have to somewhere in their mind believe the bullshit they hear or else they wouldn't take the job, or they're very weak in character. Don't give me this "they're doing their job" bs. There are lots of other things that make money. Cops don't do it for the money, it's the power. Shit...money isn't even the driving force of our gov't anymore, we don't have any...it's social power.
If a law is unjust it's meant to be broken. Just because you're doing something "illegal" doesn't mean it's wrong. Yes, I still hold a grudge to this day against the cops that busted me. They have a choice on whether or not they are going to be a cop or not and if they want to uphold the unjust laws. If you uphold and enforce someone else's word, that's basically the same as saying you think they're right. This job isn't forced upon them. If you wanna beat the legislation, there's two ways. Make new legislation, or you you gotta stop the enforcement. As long as these laws are enforced they will continue to be in place. Yes, these laws are what they are, but we have the ability to change them and make them what they were and make new laws that really should be in place. You can't be complacent. That's what hold people down. Are you one of those people that would like to see cannabis stay illegal so you can be another one of the people profiteering off it's prohibition? Do you really think someone isn't going to hold a grudge. They're being persecuted for something that we've been doing for thousand of years. Think about it.
I've also ALWAYS been very respectful around and to these guys. Paid attention to my P's and Q's, used yes sir, no sir, never gotten wild, just polite and patient...where did that get me....NO WHERE. I've only met one nice cop, he just happens to be my mom's ex. Go figure, huh.

Yeah-i've got stonned with a copper-again-(for me) this is a good thing-if i ever get pulled by him he's not going to search or bust me is he? Why? because i know what he's been up to. Isn't that obvious?
I guess that i can understand some of the Americansgetting uptight over this because over there (in some rightwing states) you can get banged up bad for a blim-but really the same principal applies.

Well that's just fine that you're buddy buddy with a cop and he'll help you out. Of course he's not gonna bust you, all you gotta do is say he's growing and BAM...he's fucked. How about all the other people that aren't buddy buddy with him that he's gonna bust. Cops growing and smoking are hypocrites no matter how good it might be to show an changing attitude towards cannabis. Think about it, hey...I'm Cop Joe Schmoe and I grow and smoke cannabis but I also bust people doing the same thing I do...come on dude, you're just one of the lucky few, the minority. Think about these people's character and integrity...would you really want a true friend like that?
first off -he's not my buddy-just some cop who i've got wazzed up with, and No i wouldn't trust him. Of course it is hypocritical for cops who smoke to bust people-but then again the world is full of hypocrites-it is a basic human flaw. Arn't you hypocritical in some respects? I'm sure everyone is to some degree-i know i can be.
I'm not defending them-i used to be a violently anti-police anarchist (embarrising i know) but have found that since i dropped those attitudes i get nicked ALOT less.
It is not a personal thing-you have got to see the wider picture-the cops over here get pissy when they have to put effort into cannabis jobs because they KNOW it is bullshit and they have more important things to do.
If you want to talk about decency and integrity-lets talk about growers-having worked ina growshop i know that, say, 75% of growers are assholes or idiots-i'd guess that a similar percentage applies to coppers. I know that that is not a politically correct thing to say on a forum like this but it's the truth.

I got stopped by a Stater, I was living in what would be termed the sticks, but paradise none the less. Anyway a bowl in my pocket and my buddy the hippie looking dude. Brake light is put sir may I see your license and proof of insurance. Well I handed him a State Id and said I didn't have a License,or insurance. So He said your license suspended or revoked and I said no I just never git around to getting one when I moved to this state. So He asked when I moved here and I told him 97, this was 06. So he wrote me up for no license and no ins, and said park your car here and get some one to drive it home for you. He said he was supposed to tow the car but didn't he didn't want to add to my grief with tow fees. So I thanked him kindly and he drove away and about 15 mins later so did I. True story

i use to deal with cops on a daily basis at the gas station. i was caught smoking there by the sheriff which did nothing, but ask me to hide it a little better. i knew most of these guys on a first name basis, but i'd never go as far as being a friend of one. no mater what or who the cop is there job will get in the way.

I have very little to offer this community that has not already been posted and dissected countless times along the years. Truthfully were it not for Overgrow and to a lesser extent icmag over the many years, I wouldn't have half the knowledge I do have.peace
